The word you want is usage, not spend. You aren't spending $15,000, you're consuming $15,000 worth of someone else's compute on a plan you paid $100 for. Also the title says DOTS and the body says dot, pick one.

Small thing: $15,000 worth of spend per day against a $100 plan is 150x per day, not 150x the plan, since the plan is billed monthly. Over a year that's a bit past $5.4M, which is the number people probably mean.

someone pulling 15k a day of work off a 100 dollar plan is less a secret and more proof nobody actually looked at the meter. my own 100 plan starts nagging me the second i upload a pdf.

15 000 $ par jour, tranquille.

15.000 al día con un plan de 100 y yo aquí mosqueado porque el del kebab de la esquina me cobra 50 céntimos por la salsa. Le voy a preguntar si eso del pool también aplica a las salsas.

an exploit lol. you found a billing gap, not a vulnerability. and 15k a day on a 100 plan lasting more than a week is fantasy, they close that the second someone posts about it

so a $100 plan is doing 15k a day and you're calling that a secret instead of a hole somebody forgot to close. thats 450k a month off one seat. do the multiply for like 200 people doing it and thats not a usage pool thats the whole eng payroll getting burned by the image gen and the research jobs and whatever it does to your repos all pointing at the same unmetered bucket. "some are reporting" is doing so much work in that sentence too, who is reporting it, you and two guys in a discord. and it never lasts, three days of bro im making free images and running research all night, then the patch and the post from the guy whose account got nuked mid repo job. if DOTS is really routing all of that around the main pool then nobody at that company is waching a dashboard

$15,000 worth of spend per day on a $100 plan. thats 150x. and the source is "some are reporting" which in my experience means one guy in a discord posting a screenshot of his own usage page. if dots really do pull from a separate pool then thats not a secret thats their metering being broken and it gets patched the second enough people do the math in public. what i dont get is what anyone is burning that kind of compute on, images and repo edits arent that expensive unless the thing is just looping on itself

Small thing: "$15,000 worth of spend" is redundant, spend is already an amount. Either $15,000 of spend or $15,000 worth of usage.

$15k a day, sure buddy

Where does the $15k a day figure come from? On a $100 plan that's 150x, so I'd want to see an actual usage page before believing it. Otherwise it's one person's estimate that everyone repeats.

An exploit is when someone breaks into something. What you're describing is a plan that's priced wrong. Not the same word.

yone. great. 15k a day of spend on a 100 dollar plan, do the math, thats not a pricing tier thats a metering hole someone forgot to close, and the second enough people pile in it gets capped and the cap shows up in a changelog line nobody reads. 'different usage pool' is a very polite way of saying the backend isnt finished. i dont even know what dots is honestly, thats not the point, the point is every time somebody finds one of these and posts about it the rest of us get a hard limit two weeks later. let me guess, images and research, and then one day you go to do the same thing and its queued behind a credit system

The $15k is spend at list price, not what it costs them to serve. A different pool just means the cap resets somewhere you can't see it.

Title says DOTS, the body says 'send stuff to your dot'. Are those the same thing or two different things? I ask because the whole claim hangs on which pool it draws from.

1

u/SeveralLog5078 7d ago

some are reporting. that's the source. enjoy the pool until someone at the company reads your post.

1

u/EnoughBaker2405 6d ago

'Some are reporting' $15k a day on a $100 plan. Every unlimited tier I've ever paid for held that ratio for about a week and then started sending emails.

A $100 plan is $1,200 a year, and at $15,000 a day you chew through a whole year of it in about two hours. Whoever is actually paying for those GPUs finds out at a quarterly review, not in a thread.

$15k of spend in a single day on a $100 plan. thats 150x the plan value, every day, and the billing team reportedly just watches it happen. no. these companies track what a token costs them down to a fraction of a cent, theyd have noticed by tuesday and closed the pool the same afternoon. and the 'different usage pool' isnt the secret it sounds like, everyone meters things apart, you get the cheap pool and the generous pool and the generous one looks infinite right up until the first invoice cycle. also a screenshot of a usage graph is not spend, people post a rate limit banner and call it fifteen grand. what even is DOTS, the post says images, research, repos like thats one tool doing all three, and if it is then yeah the pools are seperate because images and repos burn completely different resources and they price each one so you dont get scared off the front page

if it's not coming out of your usage pool, whose is it coming out of. someone is paying that 15k a day and posting it is how they find out.

1

u/VacationVirtual7243 6d ago

so if it's not hitting your pool, whose pool is it hitting? somebody is eating 15k a day on a 100 plan and it's not you

1

u/Ok-Session9480 6d ago

Where is the 15k number coming from? That is 150x the plan, every day, and nobody on their side noticed. A screenshot of the usage page would settle it.

1

u/AdFinal847 6d ago

wake me when it hits $16k

1

u/Salty_Kangaroo_915 6d ago

if it's not coming out of your usage pool then who's adding up the $15k? somebody's meter is still running. is still running.

u/Minute-Style2677 6d ago

Small thing: "which is basically send stuff to your dot" needs "sending" after "is", not "send".

1

u/Confident_Goat9582 5d ago

150 fois le prix du forfait par jour. Orange n'a jamais osé autant avec son hors forfait, et eux au moins t'envoyaient un SMS quand tu partais en Espagne.

1

u/Altruistic-Egg8543 5d ago

Where does the $15k figure come from? "some are reporting" isn't a source, and 150x the plan price per day is the kind of number that needs a screenshot of the usage page behind it.

1

u/245806 5d ago

15k a day on a 100 dollar plan. neat.

1

u/NoBug5312 5d ago

15k of spend a day on a 100 plan and your first instinct is to tell reddit. nice one.

1

u/DistinctAssistance52 5d ago

'Some are reporting' is doing a lot of work in that sentence. 15k a day off a 100 plan is 150x, and I still can't tell if DOTS is a product or a file extension.

1

u/Salty_Kangaroo_915 5d ago

so is it a secret or a "big exploit right now"? those are not the same thing

1

u/Perfect-Train-2676 5d ago

"Some are reporting" is carrying a lot of weight for a $15k/day figure on a $100 plan. Who, and is that what they actually burned or just the list price of what they generated?

1

u/Late_Gap_6405 5d ago

15k a day on a 100 dollar plan isnt an exploit, someone just forgot to wire the meter to the dot pool

1

u/Ambitious-Tap-6817 4d ago

15k a day on a 100 plan. nothing gets patched faster than a free pool being farmed, enjoy it while it lasts.

1

u/JollyContribution831 4d ago

1

u/Background-Honey-187 4d ago

Calling it an exploit is generous, nobody hacked anything here, someone at DOTS just never wired up the meter on that side. Whoever is eating $15k of spend on a $100 seat will notice before the quarter closes, same way Cursor and Copilot tightened their agent limits once people started looping them overnight.

u/Alone-Resolution4537 1d ago

Is there official documentation confirming how this usage is measured? For a work process, it would be helpful to distinguish a separate allowance from a temporary billing discrepancy before relying on it.

$15k a day off a $100 plan is 150x the plan price, and the moment that's posted on reddit it stops working. What is DOTS anyway, first I've heard of it.
