Fan controller

I'm currently planning a Nexgen case build with an AIO. In the build guide / description, the creator uses a Corsair Commander fan controller (Commander Duo/Core). However, where I live, Corsair controllers are overpriced to the point where it doesn't make sense. For those of you who built in this case or a similar what cheaper/more widely available alternatives did you use for fan and pump control?

I'm using the new Arctic fan controller, it's about 10€ on amazon. It looks like this.

Could you kindly share where you are tapping 5V from to power the Arctic board?

It's connected to a sata connector from the psu

Do you mean that, in addition to the four individual PWM control signals provided by the board through J400X, a separate 12V power line is needed to power the fans?

I have been exploring that approach as well. Since the board uses so many proprietary connectors, they originally connected to the server rack’s backplane, which provided all the standard output connectors. To replicate that functionality in a smaller package, we will need to do a bit of reverse engineering to integrate it all into a more compact setup.

I was wondering if it would be possible to connect the Arctic ACFAN00351A directly via USB and avoid using the Commander Duo. Seems like it should be pretty simple to just wire up a USB-A connector, or use an adapter for those who are not as comfortable with soldering, because this budget fan hub with full Linux support and individual fan control requires USB connection.
