Batwoman returns to Petalon to stand guard over her sister’s recovery. While the Dark Faith seems content to wait, billionaire Milo Gores embarks on his quest to build his tech-utopia. But Kate’s nascent romantic relationship with Alya Raatko, a.k.a. Featherweight, puts the two on a potential collision course—and each must ask what lines they’re willing to cross for what they believe…and each other.

I'm so excited for the story from the pride special to be continued! I love Kate and Alya, it's going to be fun! Featherbat is just an amazing ship and I'm excited to see where their relationship goes!

Also, I love that Stjepan Sejic is doing variant covers for every issue!

Same! I loved Alya in Cheeta and Cheshire and can't wait to see more of her.

Am I losing my mind? Isn't Alya Damien's cousin, which would make her distantly related to Kate?

Damien is the only link, more specifically, the fact that Bruce and Talia had him, but there's zero familial connection between the two sides, i.e, the Kanes and the Al-Ghuls.

Hence "distant" relationship.

Alya is definitely a wrench in the works for a number of shippers lol. Glad the series isn't taking too long of a detour away from the main story.

Not for me, I love those two and I hope they get together for good!

I'm intrigued by where it could go. It wouldn't surprise me if Rucka is like damn it I couldn't do the others for whatever reason, I'm gonna have Kate date this new character.

First time I'm not buying the Sejic cover. #2 is too good.

You see, trans women are women. It is gay for a lesbian to be in a relationship with a trans woman. So no he doesn't need to find a bisexual to be with Alya as Kate, a lesbian, is still a lesbian while dating her.

Lesbians are women attracted to women. Trans women are women. You are a bigot and an asshole.

Trans women are female. You are insulting and abusing the trauma of people who have actually been subjected to horror of conversion therapy.

Also, tell that to all the lesbians who are attracted to and date trans women.

Trans women are women. Deal with it.

I think the error you're making here is a projection of your own relationship with what it means to be a lesbian onto Kate's character. Surely it can't be beyond comprehension to appreciate that Kate might herself be a trans-inclusive lesbian who doesn't share your personal perspective? It seems pretty in-character for how she's been written over the years to me 🤷🏻.

I don't know if project is the right word. I feel represented by her, sure. But at the end of the day she's a fictional character. I'll move on.

The situation is frustrating when definitions have become so muddled these days. Kate could be a trans-inclusive lesbian. But that means she would include Trans men in her dating pool. I think that's probably not what you meant.

Yeah, to be clear, I don't see Kate being with a trans woman as some kind of contradiction of her lesbian identity in the way you do. And in terms of what I meant by projection, I think it's important not to take our own personal relationships with identity and map them onto fictional characters, especially when it so obviously contradicts the sensibility of the character as they've been written.
