Right way to RAID0 Installation Drive(s)?

I am building a new system, I have 2x 4TB NVMe SSD's. I want to treat them as a single 8TB pool with the speed benefits of stripping across both.

I know there are potentially multiple ways to do this; software raid (mdadm), BTRFS raid, motherboard firmware raid, etc.

In the documentation I saw no mention of the recommended way to do this for Bazzite.

Does the Bazzite installer support doing this directly? IE: if I pick both disks from the installer does it put them in a stripped config?

Thanks

Boot into the iso and open the disks app. This is an advanced feature that you can setup yourself manually.

We don’t provide support for something like that as it’s an advanced user feature that is out of the space of the distro and far more with the partition you present and utilize during install.

Would this approach use mdadm for raid?

It’s 1 way I have considered doing this, another was just using the motherboard RAID which should present as a single drive to Bazzite.

Im not real familiar with BTRFS so I wasnt sure if there was a built in way to leverage something there.

You should research, read and watch some videos for what to do (you can google based on fedora) but I would not use the motherboard raid.

RAID even under windows with storage spaces is an advanced feature that should never be setup unless someone knows a raids cost and pitfall.

TBH I would not raid nvmes especially since you will use the computer normally. You won’t see any gains other than number go up in a benchmark.
