For those interested this appears to be (appropriately) called the leaf-mimicking spider. It's found in southern China in tropical forests and seems to have been discovered in 2016.

I know people like to react with a touch of melodrama when it comes to spiders, but these guys are harmless to people. They are just a variant of orb weavers who are good at hiding for both defensive purposes and to help them catch small insects.
