Being observant is a gift. Expecting everyone to notice you the way you notice them is where it gets painful.

Some people don’t change your life. They change the way you notice it

Loosening Our Grip on What Comes Next
We're often encouraged to keep trying, solve the problem, fight for what matters, and not give up too easily. Sometimes that's exactly the right response.
But there are also situations where continuing to push doesn't actually change anything.
You can explain yourself clearly but can't control how someone responds.
You can prepare carefully but can't guarantee the outcome.
You can try to preserve a relationship, job, plan, or situation without being able to make it remain what it was.
Surrender does not necessarily mean walking away.
It can mean releasing the demand that life follow only one acceptable path.
You can care and still adapt.
You can hope and still release an outcome.
You can act without trying to control everything that happens next.
