Crazy, they show the replay of the last play, iffy no Pass Interference call...but then if you see the stadium game clock in the background - - - 0:01 when the ball hit the ground. No review though and Game Over.

False start on that 2 point conversion that wasn’t called either

The clock didn’t run for one of NDs plays. It stayed at 40 seconds. I’d say that’s even

I saw that too!!! Was wondering if I was crazy

I’m not sure it’s the one you’re talking about (I couldn’t find one at :40), but when the ref spots the ball at 1:11 after an in bounds 1st down catch, it takes a good 3-4 seconds before the clock starts.

I was there. The crowd was going nuts because they weren't winding the clock. It should have been down to 30 then the ref asked to make the clock 45 seconds. I was loosing my mind

Ah so it was cut from the highlight video damn

For all the shitty uncalled OPI that bailed ND out of 3rd downs I think we deserved that one. Hey, we know where Michigan got their second!

Ya… but we will never know now. The beauty of sports. All the what ifs. There was the PI call on the defense (BYU) that I felt should have been on ND. Anyway it was a great game! BYU looked good and seemed to really start to click.

The refs clearly didn’t want to clear all the people off the field lol.

Congrats to BYU, though. Crazy game.

One time Utah rushed the field early against BYU and they cleared the field off to let BYU try the game winning field goal again. They missed it.

wasn't it 3 field rushes? That was bonkers

u/loneshoter 11h ago

I don't like to remember that game

u/Training-One-6584 13h ago

Utah fans must have loved that lol

u/Peter-Tao 7h ago

Ref was just being kind to give u guys the opportunity to rush twice in a game

1

u/jaylooper52 12h ago

But at the same time, there's no way that play didn't take up 4 seconds.

u/AIohaa 11h ago

The play itself takes 4 plus seconds. The game is over

Good job, BYU. I Had to root for you after hearing sports commentators, trip over themselves after the Georgia and Alabama loss to say that the SEC has so many good teams and that's why there is parity. Yet parity on in the BIGXII gets disrespected. Plus, this will be a better win for Utah ;)

BYU was gifting the game to Notre Dame but they never could take advantage of it. BYU deserves the win, even with the botched no-call on the final play.

"Monster" win by the Blue Coogs.

Obvious PI on that last play and 1 second left, but enjoy your "victory". See you in November.

It was definitely PI and it did look like there was a second left.

With that said, there were also missed calls that went against BYU, so it is what it is.

About 5 OPIs, and blatant ones, Evan Johnson had Greathouse in chains until he started just throwing him to the ground when the ball came his way.

Not it is what it is on the last play of the game

Ugh damn you're right. I'll write in to the NCAA tomorrow to let them know

11

u/txvesper 13h ago

Eh, ND got away with a couple earlier going their way. Thats just football now. BYU played a hell of a game and earned that win.

10

u/jeeceofx 13h ago

That was literally the only call/non-call in BYU's favor all night. I couldn't understand why a Big 12 crew was calling the game for ND.

-15

u/uteman801 13h ago

You can't possibly believe that. Take off your blue goggles, please.

11

u/SparklezSagaOfficial 13h ago

The reffing was good, apart from ND just being allowed to commit OPI with no consequence, and the no call on the last play.

8

u/jeeceofx 13h ago

Not a BYU fan. Utah kids are touchy lol. Don't you understand BYU winning tonight is great for you if you beat them later?

ND was getting away with gratuitous holding all through that last drive and got away with a clear OPI earlier in the game.

Idk who you cheer for but the first rule of any rivalry is you don't cheer for your rival.
