u/say_the_words 1d ago
She started a million dollar acholarship fund a few years ago with her OF money and threatened to go to college.
78
u/MonoDede 1d ago
That's a good move for her. I'm not hating. Personally I don't get it and am not someone who will spend a single red cent in getting any of her content, OF or otherwise, and will only spend this amount of time typing this out to comment on her, I don't think I've ever spent any other time on any social media consuming her content or commenting on it, but hey if she's a product of this environment and sending some of that money back to the less fortunate then I can't really be mad. I don't get it, but if people keep giving her free clicks then who am I to tell her to not get her bag?
30
u/Unsd 1d ago
The way you say threatened to go to college 😂
Good for her. Seems like she's done pretty well considering the circumstances she came up under. I dont know anything about her beyond her initial rise to fame but she seems like exactly the kind of person I would want as a nurse lol. She seems like she would be sweet, but wouldn't take any shit from shitty family members. Like imagine her as an L&D nurse and some father-to-be is acting stupid lmao. That's the kind of nurse I want in my corner. I hope she does it.
Also though her listing those jobs and salaries...let's be serious for a moment. You're not getting a job as a project manager in DC with a trade school degree. You're not getting that job in DC with a masters unless you also come with substantial experience.
14
u/Living-Confection457 1d ago
The way she was the only person I've seen call out and speak out about the abuse that was going on at the Dr. Phil "reform Ranch" tells me all i need to know about her. Say what you want but that girl has what it takes to be a good nurse
8
u/no_talent_ass_clown 1d ago
I hope she does. Becoming an RN requires a lot of prerequisites before you get accepted to nursing school and you can't just half-ass them you better get good grades.

I feel like that’s the classy version that she can afford, now that she’s made her money. Most likely, she’d have gone to nursing school, missed too much schooling because of various jail time, and settled for becoming a nail tech instead.

u/SupriseAutopsy13 1d ago
I trust anyone that can get their shit together, get through that school, pass their licensing exam, and pass a battery of drug tests. Too many people only want the "straight A student since 1st grade with no absences and a 5.7 GPA" as their doctor, then wonder why doctors come off as cold and judgemental. People who were fuck ups in their late teens can learn and grow too.
12
u/Monarki ☑️ 1d ago
Med school students were always the biggest binge drinkers. It really made me a bit (irrationally) uneasy knowing that these degenerates would be doctors one day and highly likely the doctors that had treated me before had degenerate pasts.
15
u/Unsd 1d ago
There's a history to this that they're living up to. Part of the reason that doctor culture is so toxic (48+ hour shifts, for example) is because the guy who created the medical residency system, William Stewart Halsted was a huuuuge cocaine and morphine addict. So if he's gonna be up, then by god so are they.
You're so right though; my friend group at college consisted of a lot of pre-med people and aviation people. The pre-med people were degenerates (also with the strongest weed I've ever experienced). The aviation people wouldn't have a drop of alcohol until they were 21 and even then they were verrrry light with it. That shit was serious because if they got a single alcohol or drug related incident, they're out of the program entirely. Now I have no doubt that they have since become functional alcoholics like the other pilots I know, but in college...nothing.

You wouldn’t actually dip the blunt. It’s really more that you use a finger to coat the blunt.
Not that I partook in any of that tomfoolery.
If I did, I definitely wouldn’t do it looking for a dxm type dissociative high. It would be with lean instead. Or at least that’s what I read somewhere a long time ago.
8
u/UtterlyInsane 1d ago
Either way, different ways of making a wet blunt that is hard to burn, and best case scenario gets you exactly as high as the blunt alone.
3
u/Wantitneeditgetit 1d ago
Me, living in a nation where they don't put emetics in the cough syrup
Bruh just chug the bottle. Then, because it's a party and everyone's first time doing it, have your friend come up and be concerned thinking that you got missed so they grab you an extra bottle. Chug that too.
Proceed to trip hard but like for way too long until the point where the trip isn't really bad but like, you're just so fucking over it and trying to go to bed and the voices in the ceiling won't shut the fuck up like you're back living in an apartment with shitty neighbours.
That's the story of how I learned to do the lemon drop extraction and pay more attention to dosages.
9
u/boxtheglock 1d ago
That was a weird trend people were doing in like the late 2000s early 2010s trying to mimic people dipping blunts in lean. I wanted none of that smut shit dipped on my blunts lol

u/BUT_FREAL_DOE 2d ago
I mean good for her. Nursing is an honorable profession and getting an education and earning your RN is an accomplishment to be proud of. A lot of viral famous OF/influencer types do spend their time a lot less productively. More than I would have expected from her given her public persona, tbh.
162
u/HighlyOffensive10 1d ago
Yeah people are being really harsh about this. Is there a particular reason why people are hating on her?
114
u/Mchammerandsickle97 1d ago
She’s kind of a caricature of a specific type of person. Why are people hating? Call it misogyny, call it classism, best case scenario call it just good natured joking due to familiarity with a generalized type. Regardless I do know like ten girls with a similar life path and they all act the same lol.
31
u/IndependentBoof 1d ago
I agree that pivoting your career trajectory toward nursing is honorable.
But nothing says, "I'm growing up to pursue a respectable career" quite like taking a picture in scrubs clearly just trying to show off your (fake) ass
16
u/Mammoth-Coast6282 1d ago

Some nurses are dumb as bricks. I mean that goes for every profession but nursing seems to attract some real air heads.
18
u/AngelAlexis9 1d ago
Because too many people take “ I love being around people” as “ I love caring for people” Those aren’t the same thing. Also, they see the scrubs and the less “dirty work” of it all compared to more skilled doctors and instantly think that there will be less work involved and more time to look cute. Think receptionists.
The profession isn’t respected right now because of it. If the turnover wasn’t high, it would be due to so many nurses being inexperienced because they simply don’t want to learn and just wanted to be a nurse so the world would look at them like some kind of miracle worker. 🙄

When we went to the hospital for my first daughter's birth, masks were still required as it was at the tail end of the pandemic. One of the nurses expressed vaccine skepticism and took hers off when the doctor left the room.
Immediately requested a different nurse. Can't understand how medical professionals could buy that shit.

I know people who work at a college teaching nurses. They absolutely will fail out anyone who can't make the grades legitimately and who can't hack clinicals. No buying your way to a degree or trying to use fame for it. It involves lives, so they do take it seriously.
Sure, she may be able to find someplace not like that, but its reputation for graduate quality will be well known already and easy for people to find out.
