5 seconds of common sense would be enough to understand why flying cars are a bad idea

Most people beef with the curb in the drive thru. Now look how many light poles they'll hit. Even better the folks who drive on E, they'll fly on low power and randomly land on ya house while you eating dinner.

Flying cars as a concept, aren’t too bad of an idea
HOWEVER,
Flying cars built by a company notorious for exploding rockets run by a guy who just bought a patent, is a terrible idea

They’re a terrible concept outside of film and comic books.

They'd need to be about as fast as golf karts, have a max height of like 25 feet, and they'd still have a ridiculous mortality rate compared to regular cars.

They'd need much more.
The same way the society and infrastructure weren't designed with, say, physically or mentally disabled people in mind, streets and legislation aren't designed with flying cars in mind.
Introducing flying cars is no different than trying to go from no air travel existing to modern commercial airlines over the course of a couple years 😂
Even if you can produce the vehicles, society simply wasn't made with regard to them.
Could y'all imagine if anyone with a driver's license could just pull a flip on the highway 🗿
Random teenagers on a road trip decide to fly over the 18 wheeler, but run out of gas mid flight 😭

The car can't fly, and if people believe that it does then there is no hope for this country

Watched MKBHD talk about it the other day because I don't pay attention to Tesla or even cars in general. It's using tech that was already in use on another car, and the other car did the same stunt. The real talking points should be the fan underneath it and the fact that they were able to somehow get an electric car to be as light as they're saying it is.

The flying car memes are hilarious, but also bug me because that shit did not fly. Flying is either going up or straight for a period of time. That car flipped and fell kinda slowly. That’s not flying lol. I can do the same shit jumping off my roof with a bed sheet.

This is one of the stupidest grifts I've ever seen. I can't tell if people are actually falling for it or if it is just astroturf but it is stupid.

According to MKBHD, there were two presentations. This smoke and mirrors stuff, and the actual one the next day where they talk about the real features of the car.

Great news is once it leaves the ground your drivers license ain't covering it, thats the FAA or other aviation governing bodies problem

You only need to look at eVTOLs and the regulatory headaches those companies have getting those into market to know even if this thing could fly, it likely won’t make it to market

If they have even half of the features of Muskrat's other amazing products, we can look for steel-reinforced gerbil balls falling out of the skies any fucking day now. 10/10, would dystopia again.

It’s fake. Just a hollow shell with proven rocket tech strapped to it. Pretty sure the car was also on a rail and not using ground fan because you can see a seam in the track (white line covers it) and I’m pretty sure a rod underneath the drone slides into some rail mechanism.
The reason is because the downforce numbers showed no compression of the suspension and without a compliant suspension I’m not sure how you maintain a seal without a very flexible skirt underneath. None of these telltales were there.
And we know what a modern fan car looks like, because McMurtry built a real one and not some fake. They could be using those box structures underneath the drone for suction but there is no indication of skirt or seal. On the McMurtry, it’s proprietary tech and very cool. Tesla didn’t even show that feature because it doesn’t exist yet.

Nah they need to come up with some updated traffic laws long before these even hit the market

I wouldn’t trust it, especially anything Elon is involved with
