Folks ya gotta vote. Especially because of local elections and school board stuff.

In my experience, the “voting doesn’t matter/both parties are the same” people are generally unaware of local and state politics.
Right wingers have spent decades packing school boards to whitewash curricula and draw POCs out of their districts, running for local and state office to axe social programs and union bust, all before going national to kneecap civil rights and cut taxes on the rich. And we’ve got idiots swearing none of it matters because they know nothing about politics beyond what happens in DC.

This very subreddit has articles about “why should we vote, they didn’t earn it, let’s talk about repressions first”. Yes, this is the way because I mean what’s the worst that can happen? They put us all back on a field? /s …. JUST FUCKING VOTE

Personally, I'm deeply suspicious of those articles. Especially their timing. But I have no proof, so I make no accusations...

I have a policy of not saying mean things about Democrats in the weeks before an election...but well...you're right. Cuyahoga County in particular...

Naw say it.
Should we be voting Democrat out of our best interests? Yes. Thag doesn't mean they aren't ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE at inspiring their base to vote.
Chris Murphy is in Florida helping Angie Nixon try to win and he said it point blank. Get your head out of your donors' asses and start working for the people again.

Convincing people who don’t vote to vote, requires significantly more resources (money, ads, door knockers, etc) then flipping a voter.

Turning out the vote may take more resources, but it yields better results. See what Stacy Abrams and Tasha Brown did in Georgia. They got people to the polls.

Didn't essentially the same story happen with the 2024 election? I don't remember but I feel like the story was not as accurate as it was being told, once we got the stats.

They are not concerned about the impact to the Black community and simply selfish. I recently visited the International African American museum and reminded of the fight and sacrifices for voting rights .

To balance out a bit, the black men who do vote, vote around 80% democrat. We talk about mobilization. What did the democratic candidate do to mobilize the black male vote? We have to do our part but so do the people asking for our vote.
