I care for a cat colony, and Madalena was the very first cat to show up here. I fell in love with her almost immediately, but she wanted nothing to do with me. She wouldn’t come close, and she wouldn’t even eat the food I left out for her.

Then came Margô. 🤍

Margô was part of the colony too, and when she brought her babies here, her story became part of ours. But something beautiful happened along the way: her friendship with Madalena.

It was through Margô that Madalena slowly began to trust me. Their friendship became the bridge between her fear and the trust she eventually learned to place in me. Little by little, she started feeling safe, and she stayed.

The other cats from the colony come and go, wandering around and living their own little adventures, but these two girls are always here. They have become a constant presence in my life, and their bond is something truly special to witness. ❤️

When Margô had her kittens, I tried bringing her inside the house while I rescued and cared for the babies. Unfortunately, she couldn’t adapt to being indoors. She was extremely stressed and would attack me, so I had to accept that living inside simply wasn’t right for her. Loving a cat also means respecting who they are, even when we wish we could give them a different life.

Now, Margô’s babies are already four months old, and they are still here, waiting for their forever homes. They are available for adoption, and I truly hope each one of them will find a family to love them for the rest of their lives. 🥹🤍

And now, I have some important plans for Madalena and Margô.

I want to have both girls spayed, especially Margô, because her kittens are already four months old and she could go into heat again at any time. I want to prevent another pregnancy and protect her from having to go through another litter.

I also plan to get GPS trackers for their collars, so I can have a better idea of where they go when they wander around, and I want to have both girls microchipped in my name. They may be part of a colony, but they are also two very special girls whose safety and well-being matter deeply to me.

I can’t force Margô to become an indoor cat, and I can’t make every cat trust me overnight. But I can do my best to protect them, care for them, and make sure they have the safest and happiest lives possible.

Sometimes, we become part of an animal’s story in ways we never expected. I thought I was simply caring for a colony, but Madalena and Margô have given me something much more personal.

Margô helped Madalena trust me. And together, these two girls have found a place in my heart that will always belong to them. 🤍🐈🐈

Their story is still being written, and I hope the next chapters will bring safety, good health, and a lifetime of little moments together.

The cat distribution system delivered these cuties to my boyfriend and I just a few weeks apart. One of our neighbors found Eileen crying under his house when she was only four or five weeks old. Little Amelia was found in the middle of an intersection on our way back to work from lunch one day. We joked that we got our new kitten a new kitten. They quickly bonded and now all they do is roll together, whether it’s eating, playing, or sleeping. In case anyone is curious, yes, they are named after Bloodborne characters.

After his first bond passed away in ‘23, my toasted marshmallow was very depressed. Luckily, this little void was advertised on the local shelter’s website and we had to adopt her.
From the moment he met her, he was in love. Now, they are inseparable. They are constant grooming each other, snuggling, or playing together. It’s amazing how much a baby void can light up the world.
She is the most snuggly girl in the world, in my opinion. Always having to groom him, or me and my husband.
Even though we all still miss our storm cloud (his precious bond was a Russian Blue), we know she sent our void to us and will always be there through the love that these two share.

I was so nervous to introduce them, but they got along immediately! Unfortunately they didn't get a ton of time together because Fry (orange) ended up passing very early.

Also, question for the cat parents;

Is it normal for the mother cat and father cat to dislike each other after the birth of their kitten?
Or is it because I neutered my male but I still need to spay my female. 🤨🤨

That’s Chintu (4 months old) and Vesper (1.5 years old), brothers from another mother. Chintu was rescued and adopted in 2026, and Vesper in 2025.
They eat together, sleep together, play-fight together, and hunt together. The cutest part? Chintu meows to call Vesper whenever he goes to the litter box, as if he needs his big brother to stand guard. And whenever Vesper is out of sight, little man starts calling for him. 😬❤️

Brought Lucy and Rosie home from the rescue about 6 months ago. They are ALWAYS snuggling and our home is a cozier place because of them! 😻😻

My friend fosters kittens rescued off the street. He's working with a reputable humane society in the LA area to prepare these babies for adoption into a loving forever home.

They were left in a cardboard box with their two siblings out in the middle of nowhere, when it was cold. Luckily, someone found them and brought them to the shelter. We’re very blessed to have been able to adopt them. We have another sibling pair from the same shelter that are close to 6 months older than they are. It’s a circus! 😅

Louie is there too he plays with and sometimes they groom each other but he isn’t a cuddly type with other cats ❤️
