Language school in Bonn ignoring my refund emails, what can I do?

International student here., Paid IFS Bonn €1,645 for a German course, visa got denied, and their own email says they refund the fee. They ignore my emails but reply instantly when I mail from another account asking about a course. Anyone got any ideas?what should i do?

Next step is to inform them that they have a deadline to refund the money until (date in two weeks) and that you will pursue legal action and that you are in contact with a lawyer already. If they are not responding get in contact with a lawyer in Bonn and let them send a formal letter to get the money back. This will be cheaper than just letting the money go.

I mail em on Oct 13 giving a 7day deadline after i'll file Mahnbescheid, should i wait 2 weeks instead of one or mail em again with new deadline,?

If you already set a deadline it's fine. If they will not have send the money in time, tell them you will pursue legal action and a lawyer will get in contact with them shortly.

As I said, if nothing happens write to a lawyer here in Bonn.

Did their email say they already refunded the fee? When? Sometimes wire transfers take time. Do you have proof?

Mahnverfahren << You may want to start this process going. You may want to send a Mahnung as well. I am not an attorney and you should seek legal advice.

If they really haven't responded at all, you need to pressure them into responding. You can go through a lawyer or maybe try with the Verbraucherzentrale.

Do it old fashioned and write a letter first. If nothing happens escalate appropriately maybe einschreiben rueckschein. But when you don’t have a Visa you are likely currently not in Germany, don’t know the options then.
