It’s Not That They Don’t Listen to You, They’re Just Waiting for You to Say Something They Want to Hear!

Penny was really into that nap until I said one of only three things that will get her instant attention! She knows that “going to town” is going to involve a ride in the car with the window rolled down enough for her to stick her head out while we cruise along the backroads!
The other two things that will get that reaction are, “Is it a Donut Day?!”, because that also includes a trip to the neighbor’s dairy farm for a half dozen of their amazing homemade Amish donuts. Of which they always get their share!
And the last one is, of course, “Who’s here?!?”, because the prospect of having visitors absolutely must be investigated immediately!🤣🤣

In memoriam Mabel went to see Diesel today.
Mabel was diagnosed with osteosarcoma back in July, just five months shy of her 10th birthday, and just nine months after her “little” brother Diesel passed at four years old with lung cancer. We were initially told she was close, but she lived another three months and many steaks and Frosty Paws before it was finally time.

Joint supplements?
Our 7yo female boxer has been having some issues with her left hip recently. She’s a hyper little thing and isn’t taking it easy in her years.
Her hip seems to be a bit stiff after resting giving her a bit of a limp. But that doesn’t last more than 10 steps or so. And it will also look like it’s giving out at times too.
Looking for some type of joint supplement to give her (and possibly our other 7yo boxer) just to give her some support. TIA!

Freddie after and before (because the after photo is first) of his body condition after he starting having IBD issues/after new diet
In the spring, Freddie started having daily acid reflux, reoccurring vomiting and diarrhea, continuous gas, and lost weight. After many vet visits (both primary and ER), we got him on a prescription low fat IBD diet back in July. Come October and he is back to a healthy, full-chested boy with an appetite!
His vet prescribed the Hills low fat prescription diet, so we do a wee bit of the wet food plus the kibble. Our yard looks much worse now though.

Anyone know what this bump could be?
Hey everyone, this morning I noticed that my buddy has a big bump on his head. I guess he always had a bumpy head, so I didn’t pay further attention to it recently but this morning it was bigger than usual and looked swollen.
He had a bigger bump than this one on his neck before from an insect bite. Since he’s a lot in the forest and fields this could be a reason.
My concern is that he is turning 8 soon and his brother has already passed away bc of cancer, so now I’m a little worried. His sister before only turned 8. Maybe someone has some experience with that and can calm my mind. FYI: first pic is from a few days ago. Second pic is from right now. He’s asleep. Boxers aren’t known for being graceful sleeper

What to feed a five month boxer?
Hi- I have a five month old male boxer. He seems to have quite a delicate stomach. His first food after the breeder who was giving him I believe purina. I transitioned him to to royal canin on the vet advice (of course , they got commission apparently) I was then told that royal canin was terrible quality and was suggested acana but never got going in that because apparently legumes are terrible for boxers. Did a bit of research and slowly transitioned him to wild pet food raw alternative 80 20 beef. I did a VERY gradual transition but his stomach has been upset I would say 75% of the time. He also has terrible terrible room clearing death defying flatulence. Please can some one advise a good food that won’t make him constantly have diahrea and this excessively offensive gas. I don’t mind paying more money but it needs to be food that can travel- not raw as they will not fit our lifestyle. Ideally something I can buy at pet food stores as ordering can be really stressful. He also seems to have a chicken allergy, and to top it off he has never been a great eater.
Please help!
