Brentford shouldn't lose the edge that makes them difficult to play against

One thing I like about Brentford is that they don't need to pretend they're a bigger club than they are. The best performances have come when they make opponents uncomfortable, compete for second balls and take their chances rather than trying to look pretty for the sake of it.

The Liverpool game started with that kind of promise, especially with Lewis-Potter getting the opener. The problem was that the match became about the red cards instead of whether Brentford could sustain that approach.

I don't think the answer is to become more cautious in every game. But there's a difference between playing aggressively and giving the opposition an advantage through avoidable mistakes.

Yehor Yarmoliuk's red card completely changed the Liverpool game

We were in a position to get something from the match, but the dismissal before half-time made the second half a completely different challenge. I understand emotions run high, especially against a team like Liverpool, but you simply cannot make it that difficult for your teammates. What bothers me most is how much the incident took away from what had been a competitive performance.
