First time visit to Burundi

Hi guys I’ll be coming to Bujumbura in a week. Do you use any money transfer apps for everyday use or is it all cash? Also is there ATM access for international credit cards?

Are there any places other than Bujumbura to visit in Burundi?

Would I be able to survive without French and kurundi?

I guess we are in the same domain, I Wouldn’t speak of Kirundi side of things, but that audio for Kinyarwanda is not quite right!

For Kinyarwanda they can check out Kinyarwanda.com

You’re welcome! Btw, both languages are sister languages, so pronunciations are mostly identical

Its very similar, my burundi friends we joke that Kirundi copied from kinyarwanda and back and forth 🤣
It’s going, growing slowly but surely going. Users about 1,600 and many progressing through lessons.

Burundi is a fabulous place and there is loads to be seen in the country. Obviously the lake head down to Nyanza

Also you MUST head up the hills out of Buja, Gitega, Kirondo ( my favourite town) Muyinga, Karuzi , Ruyigi Bururi are all interesting places although they are not geared to tourism

Yes you will get by with english

Have they fixed that bribe system at airport? On arrival they took our foreign passports and wanted some bribes! Sorry but it happens a lot!
