Just hanging out in the rain.
Found this morning, Central Florida.

A female imago on what looks like bolted parsley.
She might have been in the middle of laying eggs on this parsley when the rains hit.

The parsley is their favorite place to lay eggs, at least in my yard.

In my garden, it’s almost always a toss-up between the parsley and the dill. This year, however, I planted far less dill and found significantly less activity relative to the previous summer. With exception to late springtime, there was nearly no activity on my parsley this time. I have no idea why.
Although they also lay eggs on other carrot-family species, including Queen Anne’s lace, cilantro, and fennel, it’s the exception I’ll find an egg or a first instar hatchling on them. Of these, only the Queen Anne’s lace has hosted caterpillars.

I tried dill, but it doesn't like the Florida heat. Parsley works so much better, and they love it.
