“They called a timeout FORTY seconds ago and we just didn’t acknowledge it until now. Please correct the clock.” is one of the funniest, most inconsequential things I’ve ever seen in a lifetime of watching sports.

I'm a clock and I'm 40

I would love to elaborate but what I said is what happened and I cannot possibly make it make any more sense than that lmao

Well, you can tell us who said that quote. Why they said that quote (who called timeout, who do not get timeout, what point in the game was it,, etc).

OSU gets a first down with like 2 mins left and the play clock didn't get reset correctly it seemed. OSU coach was telling at the ref and they got it fixed, though I think some game clock ran so they knew they messed up the clock. Play clock ran down to 0 and suddenly A&M is calling a time out.

My only guess is that A&M looked and saw a short play clock so they didn't call time out, and someone managed to argue that if they had known that the play clock was going to be reset and run off more than 40 seconds, they would have called a time out.

Either way, they definitely messed up the clock for both teams and it didn't really matter in the end other than being really weird.

I think this is the right interpretation of what happened. Then the refs, instead of admitting their mistake, tried to bury it with a timeout call.

This guy does a really good job breaking it down.

One of the weirdest things I've ever seen in a football game. Hockey has delayed penalties I guess college football has delayed timeouts now lol. I have no idea what would have happened if OK State had actually decided to run a play with say 5 or seconds left on the clock. I'm guessing they just never acknowledge the Texas A&M timeout?

Guy talks way too fucking much when the game footage speaks for itself, but glad he included a little bit of the broadcast audio in there for us

He probably has to or he could get copyrighted like PSC Highlights.

Terrible clock management by the crew, but also by Coach Robinson. Wasted a timeout on 2nd and 1??? Should have intentionally jumped offsides so they couldn't bleed the clock.

And then put 48 seconds back on the clock.

I was so lost for a minute or two. So strange.

Might've been less confusing if they'd just let the band on the field again, at least that's entertaining chaos.

Lol I was at the game, couldn't hear the ref. I was furious with the clock management and then very confused.

Wasn’t it a big ten crew lol

Wild. The crew should be terminated because of that. Plus, I can't stand the head ref as he's got too much of a hick southern accent. Being from the south, we don't need shit like this on a national stage.
