Casual Ohio St fans should be ashamed

Over 5,000 hate filled comments have showed up on Ohio St kicker Jayden Fielding’s social media since last night. Fanbase should be ashamed they’re harassing one of their own, it isn’t good for the player, team, or sport. No excuse for it, touch grass. Hope the fanbase can lift up this young man in time for their next game instead of tearing him down even more.

This is a common problem in many major sports fanbases, as much as I’d love to dunk on OSU fans it’s a sports wide problem. People gamble, lose money because of a player, then crash out and send horrible abuse to them on social media. It’s toxic and it’s a widespread issue

Yeah social media has exacerbated this issue along with more widespread gambling. Players aren’t viewed as human really. It’s sad.
