The situation in Tallahassee is so bad right now, Norvell being fired this week is not at all out of the question.

It was this bad coming into the season. It’s not suddenly worse after tonight’s loss. He’s been a dead man walking since at least last season. If they could afford to fire him now, they’d have done it in the offseason.

I could look it up - but what's the payout for firing him this week.

I believe it’s $51M if he’s fired at any point in 2026. Drops to $42M if they fire him after the season.

Personally, I don’t think the beating the FSU brand will take in the meantime is worth saving less than $10M.

Jobs like this are insane. I suck, I'm getting fired, and I'm collecting 51 million on the way out the door for sucking.

They probably had their fingers crossed hoping he could make it through the first part of the season unscathed (not including Alabama) and see the general fan temperature.

Agreed. Now is better than waiting for losses to stack up. The two weeks between now the Alabama game should be a fun time for all...
