Welp, for the national audience, welcome to the SMU ACC experience, hope you've enjoyed!

Oh boy I did NOT miss this. If you wanted to condense how SMU has been doing in a Power 4 conference the last three years, this game would do it.

Shades of offensive greatness? Check

Periods of extreme sloppiness? Check.

The Jekyll and Hyde Act that is Kevin Jennings? Check

Almost snatching defeat from the jaws of victory? Check

I could keep going on but you get the point.

THIS is why SMU hasn't won the ACC yet (they REALLY should have at this point), because they JUST. CAN'T. PUT. IT. TOGETHER. for 60 minutes, let alone a 12 game season. It's super frustrating.

But back to the game. This result was never really in doubt (though thanks to issues above they made me sweat a lot more). Should have been more confortable, FSU offered little outside their running game. 600+ yards of offense...

As a non-biased party, FSU should fire their coach. It's just inexcusable their level of exucution at certain points tonight. Talent is one thing, but they played so SAFE and scared, it kinda breaks my heart...

Hopefully SMU can go on a run, there are several exciting machups that would be better if SMU can put it together...

It’s game one, mistakes can be remedied. Imagine telling an SMU fan in 2016 that we’d be disappointed about beating FSU in Tallahassee week 1 by 3 points. Hopefully we get the sloppiness out of our system early and we go on a run.

I felt like I was watching a 04-2025 (ish) Miami team with all of the penalties and sloppy play.

The last three years? Try every year we've ever been good besides 1923 and especially since 1928. Something fucked up happens at least once almost every year we could go undefeated, thankfully in 1935 they decided champions before bowls and in 1982 it was only a tie and we didn't get an opportunity to play Georgia.
