Good job Mizzou

Let's be honest, the Mizzou-Kansas drum is a nice trophy, but it's no Louisiana-UConn Ugg Boot
3
u/dothemath Missouri Tigers • Montana Grizzlies Sep 12 '26
There's also the Mizzou/Iowa State Football Trophy.
It is also a thing.

I love political attack ads.
"Candidate was caught using alcohol and drugs"
Are you trying to get me to vote for them?
1
u/Statalyzer Texas Longhorns Sep 12 '26
At this point I'll vote for whoever doesn't bombard me with ads that insult my intelligence.
15
u/Mother_Frame6669 Sep 12 '26
I am disappointed to see Drink does not receive a bonus for beating Kansas by double digits, or for beating Kansas at all. All of his incentives are tied to SEC play.
13
u/Bayerl_r0ll Dana Vikings • Midland Warriors Sep 12 '26
Coach Drink trying to keep things civil with Kansas might be a fireable offense amongst the boosters 😬

9
u/Charming_Barber7627 Kansas State Wildcats Sep 12 '26
They have some kind of mental defect. I dont really get it, but thats the way they are 🤷♂️
3
u/Ornery-Wrongdoer4177 Sep 12 '26
What kills me is that every kU grad I've ever met absolutely insists they went to an elite Ivy caliber institution. I just don't get it.
1
u/dothemath Missouri Tigers • Montana Grizzlies Sep 12 '26
Some of their med schools are top notch, and I will say I respect the hell out of a lot of the KU graduates I work with at my hospital.
But fuck 'em in football.
9
u/Warmachine_10 Kansas State Wildcats • Hateful 8 Sep 12 '26
All they can do is invoke a history that literally no one alive had any involvement in. For that matter it’s cringey on both sides of the rivalry… but “we won the war that mattered” is peak delusion lol
1
u/dothemath Missouri Tigers • Montana Grizzlies Sep 12 '26
I would bet 90% of r/cfb is not even aware of the dark times K State football had prior to Snyder. And that was 120ish years later!
2
u/No_Education_6000 Sep 12 '26
Also, Missouri stayed in the Union. 3/4ths of Missouri men who were in the war fought for the Union. Missouri was an actual important state in the Civil War in terms of staging and controlling the Mississippi River. Kansas was useless. They didn't win anything. They didn't do anything. Kansas fans are historically illiterate.

We haven’t had a losing conference record since 2022
-7
u/CadetJayhawk Kansas • Oklahoma State Sep 12 '26
But winning a title of note since.......
0
u/ArterialVotives Missouri Tigers Sep 12 '26
Two SEC East titles in 2013 and 2014 were nice. Almost surely in the national championship game in 2013 if not for a meltdown in the 4th quarter of the SEC CG against Auburn. Better than most teams can say.
Would have easily made the current 12 team playoff format in 2023 when we finished #9 (and then beat Ohio State).
But yeah, bottom feeder otherwise 🙄
9
u/STL-Zou Missouri Tigers Sep 12 '26
We won the cotton bowl in 2023, when was the last time you guys won something

Anyone who wants civility and denounces beef in a rivalry game is a nerd and should go watch chess instead.
5
u/Gonzoboner Missouri Tigers Sep 12 '26
Chess gotta be one of the least civil hobbies I have man
1
1

I genuinely cannot think of a game or sport thats really civil, however, Ive seen significantly less chess brawls break out

As objectively funny as it would be for Mizzou to steal a drum from the band, sadly that's just the rivalry trophy. We only saw The Jayhawk logo side, the other side has Mizzou's
21
u/LGravey Missouri Tigers Sep 12 '26
At this point just put Mizzou on both sides
-10
u/IThoughtThisWasVoat Nebraska Cornhuskers Sep 12 '26
You don’t even have a .500 record against Kansas.
2

Counting ties as losses in a win percentage calculation, is that Nebraska math? You should either ignore ties completely or count them as 0.5 win. Counting them as a loss is mathematically incorrect.

8
6
u/Slim_Simp Texas Tech Red Raiders Sep 12 '26
Beat the ever loving fuck out of your sorry ass excuse for a football team for the last 3 decades. That’s what they’ve done. Seems like a lot until you realize that every power conference football team has done it too.
10
u/Charming_Barber7627 Kansas State Wildcats Sep 12 '26
KU didnt invent basketball, they just hired the guy that did, many years after.
2
u/dothemath Missouri Tigers • Montana Grizzlies Sep 12 '26

1
u/Slim_Simp Texas Tech Red Raiders Sep 12 '26

6
u/Mother_Frame6669 Sep 12 '26
Because if there is one rivalry where we need political correctness, it is Mizzou-Kansas?
2
u/dothemath Missouri Tigers • Montana Grizzlies Sep 12 '26
Say what you will about Mizzou/KU, but it definitely engenders some "talk to your kids" conversations.
1
u/Mother_Frame6669 Sep 12 '26
Considering I believe we teach history in an incomplete manner, I think that is a good thing. Their reason for having the Indian war drum as the rivalry trophy was a good one.
2
