Mutliple pre-game shows discussed how this game was an opportunity for Mateer to 'get back into the Heisman race'.

More reason to not watch pre game shows I guess

Seriously when has he once showed anything that says he’s in the upper tier of QBs? Because he torched our bottom 20 defense in 2024? 3-9 Oklahoma State scored more on us than he did.

He looked stellar at wazzu tbf.

Early on it looked like he might keep that up at ou but who knows, maybe without the injury last year he does

Many of the flaws he displays now were discussed heavily when he was transferring from Wazzu, some people just ignored them and pretended he was basically Cam Ward 2.0. He also played a much easier schedule at Wazzu.

Lots of ppl clung to the hope that he was ass last year because he hurt his thumb mid season. Looks like he just sucks.
