That’s genuinely one of the funniest plays I’ve ever seen. Burnt like toast for a TD and all of a sudden the ball is in your hands

You could literally make an inspirational Disney movie out of this game. For feel good comeback stories, it doesn't get as good and as downright cheesy as this game.

If it was fiction I would have rolled my eyes through the entire movie lmao. "Oh, of course the guy that dropped a TD pass early in the game mounts the comeback that starts as soon as the 4th quarter starts"

Tough way to get an INT on the stat sheet for Arch. It all comes down to game planning though! "Let yourself get burnt by Coleman and the ball should flick up into the air for you to grab it. Go make it happen kid"

Incorrect...the forehead is the receiver for the clicks. The manning's are the descendants of beluga whales.

36

u/Ant-Accurate Sep 13 '26 edited Sep 13 '26

This is one of those plays that is not the fault of the QB. We need a new stat called something like a “RINT” , which is a turnover due to receiver malfeasance. Doesn’t go against the QB because Arch did nothing wrong on this play, And I am pulling against both of these teams, so I’m being objective!

We actually had something kind of like that happen in our game against Texas Tech in like 2015 or 2016, except it was Texas Tech on offense and an almost-INT turning into an unintentional hook and ladder. I’ll see if I can find it.

Edit: found it. It was Texas Tech 2015.

11

I looked at the stats (without seeing most of the game), and thought, "Arch really isn't playing well."

Seeing this greatly changes that assessment. Arch made a great play, and the WR turned it to shit.

4

That is why box score and fantasy (for NFL) watchers are ALWAYS wrong. Stats never tell the full story unless it's a historically good or bad game

Drives me up a wall that they're both consistently good, AND seem to get ridiculous breaks in games. Thank you for the clarity, it’s not possible to keep up with every program and every player. Listening to the commentators they made it seem he was right up there with the best WR’s in the country and will be a top 10 pick in the draft he just needed to be at Texas so he could spread his wings and really fly.

26

u/Ghost-Koi Auburn Tigers Sep 13 '26

I mean, he's an elite talent. I just don't think he's the complete receiver he's been hyped up to be (yet). I think Jeremiah Smith is clearly better right now, though to be fair he's had better coaching too.
