In 2013 osu lost the Big10 championship game. Then lost to Clemson in a bowl game. Then started 2014 1-1 with a loss to Virginia tech the second game

Correct me if I'm misremembering, but wasn't our next game after that loss to VA Tech also Kent State?

Monday might have some of the weirdest ranking shifts in a while.

u/exMemberofSTARS Alabama • Jacksonville State Sep 13 '26

Nah,

  1. Texas
  2. Notre Dame
  3. Georgia
  4. Ohio State

Maybe even Ohio State over Georgia

u/JDraks Michigan Wolverines • College Football Playoff Sep 13 '26

OSU does not deserve to be over Indiana rn

8

u/exMemberofSTARS Alabama • Jacksonville State Sep 13 '26

Yeah, but that's how the AP will rank it. They won't drop them further than #4

1

u/force_addict Michigan Wolverines • Oregon Ducks Sep 14 '26

You were pretty close.

Y'all were saying this kinda thing last year after going 10-13 for the second time against Indiana and then got clapped by Miami two weeks later

-3

u/ThisIsOurGoodTimes Ohio State • Ohio Northern Sep 13 '26

lol clapped. The Miami game was basically just a copy paste of the Indiana game which were very close games. Also separate issue but it was more like 4 weeks compared to 2 for Miami. At this point IU is literally the only team with a big week to win a game

1

u/AmTheWildest Texas Longhorns • Marching Band Sep 13 '26

The Indiana game was a very close game. Miami slammed y'all in the first half, let y'all catch up a little bit, then still beat you by ten points.

If you wanna win a natty again then you can't let IU be the only team to win after a bi week.

1

u/ThisIsOurGoodTimes Ohio State • Ohio Northern Sep 13 '26

I mean the only real difference score wise between the two games is IU punted with 20 seconds left deep in osu territory vs Miami scoring a touchdown with basically no time left. Both Miami and IU dominated osus offensive line and miami getting a pick 6 is really what put them more ahead than what IU was.

And the other comment was more just the amount of time off between the end of the season and the playoff games starting. It seems like it has been too much time off for the teams with the bye

-4

u/Limp_Relationship_54 Miami Hurricanes Sep 13 '26

As a Miami fan, the fact that we made them look so bad last year, put them on immediate fraud alert in my mind. I personally don’t think we were championship ready at all, but playing those frauds made it all possible. I just don’t think a Ryan Day coached team will ever win because they out coached the other team.

12

u/seruleam Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 13 '26

We played IU down to the wire in the Big Ten championship game. Miami wasn’t in another class.

-3

u/Limp_Relationship_54 Miami Hurricanes Sep 13 '26

No they weren’t. Ohio state always has amazing players. Seems just the coaching was in another class evidently. Ryan Day is ass

weird take but ok

1

u/IronRushMaiden Ohio State Buckeyes • The Game Sep 13 '26

You think your own team was so bad that you are downplaying its marquee win as against a fraud and denying that your team came close to winning a championship?

If neither OSU nor IU deserved a championship, did anyone? Was the entire year “fraudulent”?
