I better never see a IU fan complain about a 30+ point shutout ever again. Ever.

Indiana is the defending national champions and on a 20 game win streak we should never be allowed to complain about anything literally ever again

That was 16 years ago!

I’m starting to itch. I’m having cravings of being respectable. 😭

the fact that that game wasn’t a bigger blowout was an indicator that this game was going to go the way it did.

They aren’t the Northwestern of old, just as we aren’t the IU of old. These are two very good football teams

i understand that, but the standard has become beating very good football teams by a lot of points. i will be rooting for northwestern to push into and stay in the rankings the rest of the season.

I don’t think you actually watched games last year during the regular season. Penn State, Iowa, Ohio State, Miami were all down to the wire. Yes we crushed Alabama and Oregon but that doesn’t mean it’s the standard.

yeah i watched those games. i also don’t think northwestern is quite on the level of any of those teams, and we just played at home

You don’t think they’re on the level of Penn State, who came into that weekend on a 3 game skid? Come on now. Or Iowa, who is a perennial 3-4 loss team every year? We watched very different game tonight. They’re well coached in all 3 phases and they spent a shit ton of money on the roster. They’re legit.

they are much better coached than penn state, sure, but penn state was stacked with nfl players. and i think northwestern will have a very similar season to iowa last year. losing 3-4 games in a tough conference is nothing to sneeze at. the key difference here is that those games were both played in brutal home environments. i’m taking nothing away from northwestern. i’m just saying indiana left much to be desired.

I honestly think the lack of a solid ooc game will hurt you guys in the end.

You can’t afford to lose any games and looking unimpressive against historically bad teams will hurt you.

I’m on your side in thinking this team should’ve blown out the competition to establish dominance tho. One loss and you don’t have a quality loss to fall back on. It’s basically win out, convincingly, or best case lose one and have playoff hopes in the hands of people who flip on pure will.

Northwestern played their asses off but relying on them to have a solid season is wild.

Well fair enough then. I spent too much time in the game thread where everyone was acting like we were losing to Rutgers and trying to clown us. Wanted to pull my hair out. Definitely things to clean up, but far from embarrassing
