He’s new here. He will eventually learn to always take your points in an Iowa game when you aren’t up by 30.

For real. Some mind numbingly stupid decisions by coaches and players to keep Iowa in the game. Iowa took full advantage kudos to them

Now, to be fair, had he "just taken the points", he would have been dragged. "How can you not go for it against Iowa on 4th and 1! We are Michigan".

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Yes but objectively, taking the points against an Iowa team who wins by keeping the score low is how to beat Iowa. Midfield is a great place to go for it on 4th and short against Iowa. Going for it when you could go up by 6 (an FG from the Iowa 18) in the first half is a riskier proposition.
