It is. Especially in light of how short the Carroll era of dominance turned out to be. It felt like it was going to run forever at the time. Then came sanctions and Alabama.
Didn't they just do it more flagrantly than everybody else? I'll take any opportunity to dunk on the spoiled children but bag men were rampant on every P5 campus
Dude every single program in the country was throwing bags of cash at all of USC’s recruits as well as their own. College football is one of the dirtiest institutions in American history. I hate Lincoln Riley as much as anyone else but stop with the performative outrage.
Ok but seriously, Pete Carrol’s USC lasting half as long as Nick Saban’s Alabama is so hard to believe; especially since people expected Saban to leave Alabama relatively soon after winning a natty
You ask their fans and you’d think they’re on a forty game win streak with every national championship trophy since 1980. Fucking legends in their own minds.
Yeah but theyll keep bringing up the Pete Carroll days as if Oregon doesnt have a better record than them even if you extend back to like 1982 or something.
I started paying attention to college football as a kid in the 90s and I don't think I have any memory of Oregon football existing until the early 2000s.

Fun fact: in the last decade of USC-Oregon games, Oregon's lowest score (31) would be enough to beat USC's highest score (27)
