I... um... I weirdly have no complaints right at this particular moment. This feels weird. I feel like I used to feel like this sometimes, like weird diffused memories from a past life or something. But like a good dream that you remember when you wake up but you can feel fading away, let's see how long we can ride this thing out.
I’m afraid we won’t fire Norvell. He needs to go. Even if he wins every game left on the schedule (which obviously and definitely won’t happen) he needs to go.
I was finally sold on firing him after SMU. Now I have weird feelings. If he wins even enough to get us to a bowl I might be ok with trucking this out for another year. I know, that sounds crazy, but who knows, we might just be a very long term roller coaster.
Mike can never recover from a 2-10 season, and then performance against Stanford last year. He just had one of his great games he is due for in a season and then he’ll shit the bed against BC probably. He’s got to go after the Miami game.
I think he can get smoked by Miami and be ok, but things get dicey after that. I'm also very concerned about Pitt and BC, they're both away games for us and in November, and our dudes have always looked like they're going to die in cold weather. At least BC already did their red bandana game (no offense at all to Welles, man is a god damn hero, but when they do that they get juiced up for like three extra touchdowns), so between that being out of the way and global warming, maybe we've got a chance.
If, and it's a big if, Mike pulls out a semi respectable season with our schedule this year I won't be in a big hurry to can him.
