I just knew things would get fucky when Nebraska missed that kick. They were killing us but only up 7. You have to play absolutely perfect and put the dagger in when playing against Cignetti and they just couldn’t do it. We’ll see what we’re made of next week
I know moral victories aren’t really a thing but nothing but positive things can come from this game for y’all. You know how to compete with a highly ranked team. You know what to work on to close it out next time and even make a sneaky playoff run if things break right
I knew this would happen. If we won in a blowout, it’d be “Well Nebraska sucked all along”. If we won close, it’d be “Indiana is fraudulent cuz Nebraska sucks” and if we lost, “Indiana is toast cuz Nebraska sucks”. I’d say you’re a pretty good team that just isn’t in the top of the conference yet and that’s okay. We may very well get murdered next week, but today is not an indication of that
We've played this game a million times. We played close with the eventual national champion in 2024 and we finished 7-6. We okayed close with two playoff teams in 2021 and went 3-9.
History has shown, repeatedly, that this means nothing for us. Good teams like Indiana sometimes play like shit against bad teams.
You guys had one of (if not number 1) the best 4th Q differentials in the country. Good teams crank it up when it matters. Being unranked also is not a mark of if a team’s good or not. I get being frustrated at the game and trying to discredit things about it to make themselves feel better, but it’s clear you guys are good
