What did these teams figure out about Florida? How did they go from a billion points a game to getting locked down by South Carolina who got demolished on offense by Alabama etc.?

The recipe is pretty simple:

  1. Stack the box. Our O-Line is terrible, and this prevents Baugh from running anywhere.
  2. Force Philo is pass. He isn’t very good, so it’s easy to shut down the run game when you don’t have to worry about the pass game. Also, since the O-Line is bad, you’ll get to the QB a lot.
  3. Apparently, the entirety of our offense relies on VB3 being healthy.

That's how teams shut us down when Ollie Gordon was running wild. Even his Doak Walker winning season, teams like UCF and Texas stacked the box and we couldn't move the ball. Move that into 2024 and we go 3-9.

They wanted GT's offense and they got GT's offense!

They caught Ole Miss in an all-time letdown spot. And crawled past Auburn who aren’t good.

Crawl is a good word to describe how the rest of our season is going to go

Ole Miss's defense is atrocious

They caught Ole Miss without Lacy in the most obvious letdown spot possible. It was a one score game late in the 3rd quarter. Faulkner has called a couple clunkers, Philo is showing his inexperience, and the OL is getting dominated

Definitely a letdown game but Mizzou was without Hardy and still drubbed them. Ole Miss defense is simply not good and Chambliss had turnovers leading him to not bail them out like usual.

That is what I am wondering, what suddenly changed about teams being able to stop them

Well Fla’s defense hasn’t been very good against anyone. And on offense they’ve had a lot of injuries in their wr group. Not good at stopping people, not complete on offense, playing against a QB who is extremely hard to tackle with a 30 million dollar roster. That’s the grind. Florida will struggle on d the rest of the year. If they don’t get some wr back, they’ll struggle to run it down people’s throat like they did early in the season. Scar struggled to execute once again at times on offense. They’ll probably continue to struggle going forward.

Both teams will probably struggle the rest of the year.

I’m a gamecock fan.
