Let me get this straight....Oregon breaks Penn State last year and gets James Franklin fired. Penn State whiifs on their hire and lets Chesney slip through their fingers. Chesney moves out to UCLA and deals a major blow to Oregon's season. Ultimate PSU revenge.

I like to think getting Franklin fired was a group effort

yeah whoa this is NU stolen valor

Nail in the coffin and all that, but Oregon broke him, and UCLA finished the job. You guys just buried him.

As poetic as this is, it was arguably UCLA's asscheeks team that broke Penn State last year / nailed Franklin's coffin.

u/mbarnhead16 Ohio State • Cincinnati 6d ago

True, but I like to think that loss broke Franklin's brain at PSU.

Fuckin' got 'em

Chesney at PSU would've been great

I know a certain someone who wanted Chesney at his program

I was hoping BC snagged him when he was successful at Holy Cross, they didn't. He went to JMU and shined there before UCLA.

You might get a shot again, he's a PA guy and probably wants his kids to grow up there rather than LA.

1

u/Crazed_Chemist Penn State Nittany Lions 6d ago

He's going to be a super hot commodity, but hopefully he wants to come back home. I don't know how long the Campbell experience will last. It's a big contract

2

u/Dirk_Benedict UCLA Bruins 6d ago

Respectfully, we bring Penn State. Oregon was good and won. Big deal. We were dogshit and beat them and destroyed their season.

Very true, you kicked their ass. I just think Franklin lost the team after the Oregon loss.

Whifs on their hire? Yeah getting a coach last minute that causes half the players to leave. But yeah 5 games into it and it's a failure now. Do you people even listen to your selves?

1

u/mbarnhead16 Ohio State • Cincinnati 6d ago

Didn't they not want Chesney because of "culture fit"?

-9

u/ThE_LAN_B4_TimE Penn State Nittany Lions 6d ago

Why does it matter? Please tell me how it matters? Comparing two completely different schools with completely different situations is not the same thing. Let's see Bob Chesney go 6-0 with a makeshift portal team from Iowa State. Give me a break

9

u/mbarnhead16 Ohio State • Cincinnati 6d ago

You sound like someone who is mad they hired Campbell instead of Chesney.

-6

u/ThE_LAN_B4_TimE Penn State Nittany Lions 6d ago

Not at all. I don't make ridiculous statements based on 5 games into a season of first time coaches in completely different situations

7

u/eagle2120 Virginia Tech Hokies 6d ago

Yeah let’s be real, UCLA just has way more resources and the better starting roster. How could PSU hope to come anywhere close?

-2

u/ThE_LAN_B4_TimE Penn State Nittany Lions 6d ago

PSU lost half their team and their entire recruiting class jackass. I know facts for you people are hard.

5

u/eagle2120 Virginia Tech Hokies 6d ago

Lost half but conveniently ignoring that you gained half of ISU’s team, including a multiple year starting QB lmfao

But facts are hard for you people. 😂🤣💀

-1

u/ThE_LAN_B4_TimE Penn State Nittany Lions 6d ago

Yeah gained multiple players from a Big 12 team. Riight that means what?

What an ridiculous analysis. So funny listening to you cocky ass VT fans talk shit after being trash for over a decade.

Bruh he went 6-0 with ucla

-5

u/ThE_LAN_B4_TimE Penn State Nittany Lions 6d ago

So the fuck what?

2

u/CheaterSaysWhat Ohio State Buckeyes 6d ago

So it stands to reason he’d be better than 3-2 right now if he was coaching at Penn State

-1

u/ThE_LAN_B4_TimE Penn State Nittany Lions 6d ago

No it doesn't at all
