Ok so disclaimer im a Duck fan and Oregon deserved to lose and UCLA was the better team...
But why did they make a big deal of announcing the ball would be at the half yard line and then literally put it at the 2 for the conversion? That was bizzare. And then no one said anything more about it?
So I didn’t watch this game, but the NCAA rulebook says that tries are taken from the 3-yard line. Could it be that the referees did give half the distance to the goal, but misspoke about “half yard line”?
They respotted and said because it was personal foul it would go from the end of the initial try for 2, so it would go to the. 1/2 yard line and then a bunch of talking to coaches and the. Ball was at 1.5 yard line but no announcement was made
The two point conversion in college is from the 3 yard line, so the 1 and half yardline is half the distance. It was the correct placement. The announcers didn't correcr themselves.

Okay, this is beyond me rule wise so idk where it should have been spotted
But I'm pretty sure the Oregon coaching staff said some damn things about it. It was like four minutes between the two tries because the coaches kept going onto the field and talking to the refs presumably about the placement for the second try.
