The media will do anything else except admit they made a mistake. They're going to pretend Arch is elite until he either retires or busts.

Just look at how Brock Purdy is covered in the NFL. He's the top QB in the league according to the analytics, and you'd think his draft position would make him the perfect media narrative, but the talking heads treat him like he's mid just because they all got his projection wrong and don't want to admit it. They did the same thing to Tom Brady back in the day as well, just because he was drafted low - it took 3 Super Bowl wins before the media finally admitted that Brady was elite, and not just a system QB.

I feel like that system QB narrative dogged Brady in the media well beyond the first 3 SB’s

Brady had to leave and win in Tampa before it happened. Many considered him a HOFer but with a coaching asterisk.

I don't think I ever saw Brady more happy and completely hammered with alcohol than right after he won it all with Tampa.

Brady is the goat but I think people were talking about the other asterisk.

Hardest thing for many people to do is admit they were completely wrong. Crow leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Herbstreit's intense desire to say he is friends with famous people like the Manning family prevents him from objectively evaluating Arch. If you are famous, he will dickride you into oblivion. Much of the test of the media is similar.

Hell Brady had to go to another team and win a Super Bowl there for the rest of us to admit he was the GOAT lol

Umm.. the media hasn't even put him in the top ten of qb's in the nation for weeks let alone heisman. This is a reddit thing from people like you wanting to hate. Casual sports fans with nothing to look forward to in their lives get a dopamine boost off proliferating this false narrative of him being a top qb so they can tare him down, the cycle of dopamine. Look up Heisman polls last few weeks, he's nowhere near it. The idea that he is great is something people made up based on no facts. So let's ask why does your post get upvoted. It's not the media voting for him, so it's just people loving the fall. People will create a rise just to relish a fall. It's peoples own narratives to give them something to feel, more than they ever would on their basement. The only rational theory is people love hating on something because it crease some sense of adrenaline, when rationally, he was never even ranked high enough by even this years media, to be hated in either way. Unreasonable hate gets more upvotes than promoting a generally good top 5 QB gets upvotes.

Kiper still had him at number 5 as of 2 days ago. Might need to check your facts.
