I like Arch and he has some high upsides. Because majority of what you need to fix with him is mental side of the football. But he was never a serious Heisman candidate to anyone who really likes or watches College Football. It’s been Smith’s award to lose I feel like for majority of college football fans
I admittedly don't spend much time keeping my ear to the ground in Austin. What do Texas fans think of him, by and large? Are they over the schtick or still ride n' die?
I only know he is our ride n die this year....what else could it be. Not sure what you mean by "schtick". Arch is who he is. Hyped up too much before...yes obviously.
The only thing that had him in that conversation was his last name. Anyone that didn’t have a Longhorn bias, and watched the games, could tell you that he is a good, not great QB. The jock sniffers are still going to be scream-defending him until the day he retires from football. But, he has mid major talent at a blue chip school.
Honestly kind of funny that leading your team to a 21 point comeback against a top 5 team in week 2 generated almost no heisman hype for him, if anything Jeremiah Smith got more hype from it and he lost.
Probably depends who you support. That shit Charlie Strong Texas team embarrassed the Sooners in 2015, so it goes both ways. Really just an unhinged rivalry where records don’t matter.
Wasn't the Case McCoy game, it was the game where Texas ran the triple option the whole game and OU couldn't stop it. Wasn't a high scoring game but Texas would pick up like 8 yards on every play, was probably the most frustrating game I've ever watched.
The RRR exists in a pocket dimension unrestricted by the bounds of normal causality. Records, expectations, talent, none of it means a damn thing in the face of the fickle whims of the football gods

You can always count on Texas to lose to an OU team they have no business losing to.
