So Oklahoma was just playing 4D Chess. Become unranked and having a horrible offense just to sneak attack Texas? Smart.

Basically backed up to the wall like Michigan was when we traveled there. We needed this win.

u/According_Grab_394 Ole Miss Rebels 6d ago

This is why I love CFB. OU is very unlikely to make any noise for the playoffs, but at the end of the day, they won the Red River.

Why is that game always chaos? I love it, but will never understand it.

Also wtf is Texas this year? Are they the worst elite team or the best mediocre team? It should have never been in reach for OU, but Texas kept making mistakes to keep the Sooners in the game.

Billy, this is Arch Manning. He has some of the best arm strength and mobility that you’ll ever see in a young QB. He comes from the most talented pedigree of football to ever play. His only defect is that he’s a fucking moron

282

u/DataDrivenPirate Ohio State • Colorado State 6d ago

He has the ceiling to be NFL caliber at any given moment but he's inconsistent enough that I have a hard time thinking Texas is going to be able to win 4 games in December/January to win it all. He's a slightly more talented and slightly more inconsistent Carson Beck.

197

When a Manning is born the gods flip a coin. One side lands on greatness, one side lands on derpness. Except for that one time it rolled across the floor and was kinda propped up against the couch leg so we got a mostly derp but great in the playoffs Eli.

The last Arch pick was horrifically bad, he just panicked. Literally just chuck that out of bounds or take the sack and the games going to OT

529

u/OldManCinny Tennessee Volunteers • Texas Longhorns 6d ago

Arch was awful but so was Sark. 4th and 2 to 100% win the game and you try a 53 yarder??? 2 yards and the game is over. Cowardly.

233

u/BeyondLiesTheWub Texas Longhorns • Iowa Hawkeyes 6d ago

I could not believe it. Sark never kicks in that situation and our kicker isn’t even that good. Not that Manning would’ve converted but you have to go for it there.

Mateer isn't ass, he just saved all his luck for that last throw. What an insane game

There might've been too much shit talk on how Oklahoma can't score and not enough on Texas' mid offense. Complete madness all around

OU kicker cemented his place on an NFL roster next year

Edit: I still think Mateer is ass, guys. It was a joke that he was only able to throw when it mattered most

He’s terrible. Texas has lost two chances at a Natty because the Manning name carried more weight than talent.

21 points directly off stupid shit. Blocked punt (fire Jeff Banks), RTP on an INT leading to 7, and a pick 6. Just bad. This team has negative IQ.
