Honestly that's all our offense needs to do: not choke. Our defense is good enough to win any game when our offense makes positive plays and doesn't turn it over
Well last year we hosted a home cfp game and came super close to a first round win.
The frustrating part is we should have beaten Michigan this year for sure.
But I think most people thought we'd drop 2 games out of the first five since we played at Michigan, then played UGA and Texas. Still a tough slate to go, but we've played all the best defenses we're going to face and arguably are through the toughest part of our schedule
I don't think our offense will be like this forever. I think it just hasn't been as good as anticipated. If we had the 2023 offense with the 2025 or 2026 defense, we'd be a top 5 team. I truly think it's BV's goal to get us that type of offense, it just hasn't panned out like he thought.
I actually disagree there. Riley has been a coach for 9 and a half years now and hasn't produced a single good defense. I'm not sure he is all that interested in truly having a good defense.
BV has been the head coach for 4.5 years now he had a top 5 offense in 2023 and had a top 5 defense in 2025. He saw the formula at Clemson: keep reloading on elite defense and try to lure a solid offense. He's working towards it
