I’ll never be okay with losing. But the last 3 match ups had zero impact on the playoffs, the loser made it every time.

There’s going to be a lot to coach up after this one

Both these teams should be very good come playoff time

u/pappapirate Alabama • South Alabama 6d ago

probably two of the top 3 or 4 teams in the country, if not 1 and 2

u/Tarmacked USC Trojans • Alabama Crimson Tide 6d ago

Honestly we left an absurd amount of points on the board. At least three field goal attempts where we took a sack out of range or fumbled it.

Keelon with more seasoning should settle but god was that annoying

Very true but UGA also shot themselves in the foot with stupid holds and whiffed tackles killing offensive drives and defensive stops. I hope for a rematch in the SEC championship with everyone healthy and hopefully much better work from the zebras.

The hold called on Lawson Lukie was so bad and it took 7 off the board. So people can cry and complain about refs but there was a a lot of bad calls and no calls all game. They called Georgia for holding all night but didn’t hardly call bama for any holds when they held all night. Can play this game all day. Don’t leave it up to the refs or you’ll lose. Simple as that

I feel the exact same way about us. This was not a fun game to watch.

Yeah, we just never made you pay for any mistakes. No points off the pick or the possession at the 50. 3 or 4 times you fumbled and we never recovered

u/althawk8357 Georgia Bulldogs • Rose Bowl 6d ago

The referees certainly didn't help y'all with momentum.

My hope is we can both discover some magical healing water from a medicine man and have our teams get healthy by the time playoffs are around.

Especially the RB room. If we lose another one, we’ll have to recruit out of the Redcoat Band

u/Phantom1100 Alabama Crimson Tide • Team Chaos 6d ago

I mean we will…Andrews Sports Medicine weird black magic will get us back to 100% for Atlanta. It’s not like last season where the injuries piled on at the end of the season (yet)

It's a funny thought (and not all that far-fetched) that the powers-that-be would find a cure all and use it for athletes or the 1% instead of a war zone or hospital where it's actually needed 😂

u/bigDUB14 Alabama Crimson Tide • West Florida Argonauts 6d ago

It means we have a much tighter leash (pun intended) for the rest of the season. Just sucks that it went down with refball

u/Live_Technician1038 Ohio State Buckeyes 6d ago

Good news is rest of your schedule doesn’t look bad at all. You can even still afford one loss too. Especially with how close this was.

7

u/sunburntredneck Alabama Crimson Tide • Texas Longhorns 6d ago

I have us favored to win in every game for the rest of the season. Lane will have a mental block and we're just better than everyone else.

I do think we lose one. I don't know which one. But 10-2 Bama gets in, win or lose in the SEC Championship. We did it before, we'll do it again!

u/burns_a_lot Alabama • Bowling Green 6d ago

Total loser mentality.

5

u/Phantom1100 Alabama Crimson Tide • Team Chaos 6d ago

Realistically, at this point it looks like LSU is the only team who can beat us on the rest of our schedule, and I’m not even confident in that they’re just the best opponent left on our schedule.

12

u/bigDUB14 Alabama Crimson Tide • West Florida Argonauts 6d ago

We are prone to losing winnable games with this staff.

8

u/Phantom1100 Alabama Crimson Tide • Team Chaos 6d ago

I mean, with the exception of the postseason where we were completely battered, OU was a super flukey game we win 9/10 times. FSU I’ll give you that.

I just don’t expect something like 23 OU or 23 TN to happen again. At least with our current roster.

3

u/Tarmacked USC Trojans • Alabama Crimson Tide 6d ago

No, we really aren’t. Milroe lost us two and OU was very flukey with turnovers.

FSU, sure, you can ding them.

1

u/Brody1Ken0bi Alabama Crimson Tide • Troy Trojans 6d ago

I just don’t see it happening this year

14

u/t2guns Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

The game was gonna be ref ball since the first quarter anyway. It was appalling.

7

u/HeywardH Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

Iron sharpens iron, brother.

5

u/thescottula Georgia Bulldogs • Texas A&M Aggies 6d ago

A threematch has never felt more possible than this year

7

u/Atlanta-Anomaly Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

Yeah thats the thing with the expanded playoff. These games matter way less. Georgia needed this win a lot more. Fanbase wise and their schedule is a hell of a lot tougher with Mizzou and Ole Miss still left.

3

u/illbelate2that Georgia State • Georgia 6d ago

I told my brother I thought it was very likely no matter the win we'd see each other again in Atlanta

6

u/Poverty_Shoes /r/CFB 6d ago

I went into today thinking that UGA and Bama were the two best teams in the SEC and I feel even stronger about that now with LSU and Texas losing. Mizzou or Kentucky might actually be the third best team, but it’s a steep drop after #2.

3

u/Zef_Apollo Alabama Crimson Tide • Sickos 6d ago

I don’t really like this because it does change seeding could matter depending on how people want to value SECCG and gives one team way less room for error.

3

u/gmr548 Texas Longhorns • Washington Huskies 6d ago

This is as close to a loss that doesn’t count as it gets. You’ll see them again.

3

u/B-Train_ATL Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

It makes it slightly harder for you guys to reach the SECCG. But my god we’ve still got Ole Miss, Florida, Missouri and South Carolina. I don’t know which of those are “holy shit” and which are “easy peasy.”

5

u/pappapirate Alabama • South Alabama 6d ago

after seeing how we play against actual elite competition, it's hard to imagine losing to any other team on our schedule. we'd have to play so far under our ceiling.

wild to feel better about my team after a loss, but that's the expanded playoff era, baby. a decade ago this would've been "there's always next year" territory.

4

u/Main-Championship822 Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

Life is better when football is good in Tuscaloosa and Athens. Idc. I hate to love yall. I want to meet In the playoffs every year so we cam hopefully crush yall, and i hope yall feel the same way. From a dawgs perspective, alabama and Georgia have a special rivalry.

4

u/SrslySnapback Alabama Crimson Tide 6d ago

True. I wanted to win but our whole season is still there

2

u/CoachSlime Nebraska • Colorado State 6d ago

Nebraska vs Indiana today

2

u/CornIssues Clemson Tigers 6d ago

Hopefully the refs are being coached up as well

But who are we kidding, they will continue to be dogshit and deep in gambling pockets

-4

u/Chippermack Alabama Crimson Tide 6d ago

only adjustments i can see are kicking dijon lee off the team and teaching our guys how to bitch to the refs like kirby smart has done for 8 years

3

u/What_A_Ledge 6d ago

Delusional! Bama has easily been the beneficiary of refs against UGA

2

u/Zef_Apollo Alabama Crimson Tide • Sickos 6d ago

I’ve been on reddit for over a decade and can’t think of a single game or even a games worth of plays in the entire BAMA UGA series in that span that would be similar to this.

3

u/What_A_Ledge 6d ago

Tyler Simmons was onside. That was refball in a National Chanpionship game. 2023 sec championship game was bad. No call on the sideline was nearly as bad as this one. I’m not arguing the no call DPI was a nothing burger, it was bad. Hate it was essentially the deciding factor of the game, don’t get me wrong. I hate to see refs miss something that fucks the game. UGA just hasn’t been the beneficiary of it before

0

u/BeginningDay19 Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

So the blocked punt in the national championship called offsides and he clearly was not? Or the no catch in 23 that was called a catch? Those were not the last decade and in more important games?

5

u/Tarmacked USC Trojans • Alabama Crimson Tide 6d ago

The blocked punt was also a procedure issue, so either way it’s a rekick.

0

u/BeginningDay19 Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

Oh so they called that procedure call then? No, so they made the worst call there. If it had been offsetting fine, but it was not offsetting, just offsides and that benefitted Bama.

3

u/pappapirate Alabama • South Alabama 6d ago

what shouldve happened: false start, move bama 5 yards back, punt.

what happened: offsides, move bama forward 5 yards, replay the down.

crazy how much yall have bitched for a decade about literally 10 yards of field position.

1

u/BeginningDay19 Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

And you are bitching about last night. Bad calls happen. What should have happened yes, but did it no. They made the wrong call all the way around that play. He was not offside and your guy moved first. But who got the flag? That is the point. And UGA was actually penalized more last night.

In fact, Bama has a running QB and there were no holding calls made against Bama, how is that even possible. At least one time you would think when he took off and changed direction a line man would hold at least once.

Meanwhile, UGA got a holding call when there was no holding. The officiating was horrid last night. But it was horrid on both sides.

1

u/Tarmacked USC Trojans • Alabama Crimson Tide 6d ago

>how is that even possible

Well he only ran like five times and mostly after rolling out already

You’re complaining about bitching but bitching about a good chunk of small things

1

u/pappapirate Alabama • South Alabama 6d ago

everybody but georgia fans are bitching about last night because everyone knows the zebras made more than a handful of objectively bad calls in favor of the team who barely managed to win. it ruined a great game for everybody.

a little different than 10 yards of field position in the 3rd quarter of a game yall were winning by 2 touchdowns, do you think?

georgia was penalized more because they committed more penalties. and they still had a handful of 15 yard penalties left uncalled on top of that.

u/Zef_Apollo Alabama Crimson Tide • Sickos 6d ago

Someone else made comment about the blocked kick. Also you’re going to have to be more specific about 23. But I gave you a decade and you couldn’t give me even half of the amount of controversial calls

6

u/pappapirate Alabama • South Alabama 6d ago

But I gave you a decade and you couldn’t give me even half of the amount of controversial calls

mic drop, honestly. a bad offsides call on a guy who jumped the snap because of a missed false start, and a 50/50 dropped pass (only call from that game they could be referring to) where kirby had timeouts in his pocket to force a review but just watched us run to the line and run a play.

such terrible officiating. poor dawgs.
