Scared for the lack of update on Ryan Williams’ condition… looked like a pretty devastating hit to the head and bro was in a different stratosphere when he stood up

As soon as he hit the ground and didn't move my immediate reaction was he was momentarily unconscious. Really hope he's OK long-term, damn

I didn’t like seeing him come back after how he was taken off before halftime. You could tell he wasn’t 100 percent. I know people want to tough it out, but it’s a long season.

Same here. He's a player, for sure. I have no doubt he could have said "nah, my knee hurts" and no one would have judged him for it. But he went back out to try to help his team win it. Ton of respect for that kid.

On a similar note, I was a bit worried for that UGA rb that fell directly onto the top of his head. His whole shit crunched like an accordian. Every time I see that I get worried that we are gonna have another Ryan Shazier incident.

Nah dude the ground caused his concussion, didn’t you hear? Please don’t go look at the screenshots where the DB makes contact with only his helmet on impact, tho.

I was thinking the same thing and so confused why they seemingly ignore that initial contact

It looked initially like we targeted our own guy, but on the replay it was obvious Williams took the first hit. How they didn't see that is beyond me. Deboer should've been pitching a fit. Maybe he was and we just didn't see it.

They only had an entire tv timeout to look at it while our receiver laid motionless on the ground. How could you expect any more from our incredible SEC officials?

If it wasn’t clear then, the no-call PI made it clear. There’s so much money in these games. And UGA undefeated is the current viewer titan. So, they win. Pre-ordained.

After the emotions and alcohol wear down, let’s take a look reality

Look, the targeting and the PI were both bad calls, nobody sane is disputing that. But the refs were just terrible, both teams got away with pretty egregious holds while ticky tack holds got flagged. Bama unfortunately had those bad calls go against them in extremely high-leverage moments.

Saying it’s because of “viewership” while Bama is one of the most popular and watched brands in CFB makes no sense (last year Bama was 1st and UGA was 3rd in terms of average viewership on their games). The refs aren’t biased or crooked, they are just terrible at their jobs.

lol if it was Georgia instead of Alabama you would not be saying that

Yes he would.

u/bradye0110 6d ago

No, he wouldn’t.

We didn't say this dumb shit in 2018 and 2023 when we got hosed with shit ass calls against Bama

2

u/bradye0110 6d ago

And we didn’t ask.

Sore loser. The refs sucked and missed calls from both sides. Everyone can agree that the officiating has favored Alabama the last decade, and the one call that goes our way suddenly makes it a pre-ordained win for Georgia.

The tyler simmons blocked punt offsides call, when the ref admitted it was actually a false start on Alabama.

In the same national championship game in 2018, they missed a false start on a play where Alabama tied the game, which would have led to a difficult fourth and long late in the game.

2023 SEC championship game, Isaiah bond “catches” the ball despite the ball blatantly hitting the ground before he catches it. This was on a huge 4th down conversion.

Absolutely a bad missed call, and I’m not going to pretend it wasn’t in an attempt to defend Georgia. But how many bad calls went Alabama’s way, and how many for Georgia?

The “one call” … overturned turnover with no angle of it hitting the ground. The targeting no call, which Kirk loved to tell us that RW’s concussion was caused by the ground (lol). No-call PI.

Yeah man, 1 call.

This was the levy breaking here. College football is rigged and, to your points, has been for a long time. It was in our favor for a decade, now it’s in yours. Enjoy!

Hit to the head… hmmm.. what do they call that?

Head Hitted

Most people are gonna fixate on the missed DPI but I don’t know how targeting isn’t called there. Especially since it’s reviewable

I totally agree! I'm a nurse, and my immediate thought was he needs concussion protocol with a thorough follow-up!

In addition to the targeting, the DB on his back was yanking down on his facemask. Tough to stack more personal fouls on a single football move.

He walked off looking fine. They took his helmet so he’s definitely concussed.

We don’t need him for the next game and he can rest his knee so I’m fine with it. He’s been banged up and battle through stuff
