They really just need to swallow there pride and make it reviewable

They are never going to make it reviewable because at the end of the day it's a judgement call because there is no clear definition of what PI actually is.

It's the football equivalent of a balk.

I mean they can always adjust and make it a clear enough/close enough definition similar to a balk. Situations like this seem pretty obvious to me what it should be.

Balks (along with a huge number of other judgement calls) are not reviewable either, which is the point. Balks are also notoriously poorly defined.

Situations like this seem pretty obvious to me what it should be.

You don't write rules based on edge cases like a single no-call because that just *results in bad rules.

I guess id rather try to evolve and experiment with trying to review these types of calls then just give up and still leave it to human error. But I get it, theres usually holds and interference calls on almost every play which could backfire and change the game to much to peoples liking

That's the problem I'm driving at (in addition to the fact that allowing replay for fouls is extremely rare)—if you make all penalties reviewable you're just going to be giving the replay official complete control of the game and you may as well do away with the on-field crew entirely because they are superfluous in that situation.
