Why is Bill using the iPad like he's signing away all his possessions to Jordon or something lol

I’m obviously biased, but it feels like this duke o line holds even more than most

Highly questionable. If that wasn't running a route, so many plays Duke has faced this season would have been OPI.

Can we catch just one of those gift ints for ducks sake

If we combined the best from both teams to create an all star team, do you think we could make it to the playoffs?
a) No
B) No
C) see A

This game can really bring together the Heels and Devils (much, as a Carolina student, am I loathed to say). The mutual confusion here is downright unifying

This goes back so many years, too. Cultural issue with the program.

That would have been RTP against GT...
Another stop. Now, offense, do something.

Two awful teams playing awful football...just wouldn't be the Victory Bell Classic without it!
2
u/buffinator2 Arkansas Razorbacks 8m ago
Duke should be comfortable with UNC's QB in the 4th quarter

u/Bambi_Bucks Duke Blue Devils 12m ago
Good game for Duke fans who love an absolute ass clenching 3rd & 10 play over, and over, and over, and over.
Ending with a punt.

u/AnotherUnfunnyName Duke • Carolina Victory Bell 13m ago
There is no down by contact in college football Mr. Ref.
3
u/Exoprime270 North Carolina • Western Caro… 13m ago
Sorry, I’m gonna be hung up on this a bit. How the fuck are these refs gonna watch 3 players get injured in quick succession. Then completely ignore a player launching himself head first into another player.

I figured they would go for it after that run call.

That was a bad spot and you should totally go for it.

Run + punt there is easily one of the dumbest decisions I've seen all day, congrats Duke

This offense is just great at shooting themself in their own foot. Grabbing his hand? That won't do enough to do anything any kills a great play.

Hate to keep harping on it but is ridiculous the refs didn’t blow the whistle on that fumble

ACC refs, man. They have on-call access to the football equivalent of NORAD and will still manage to make the worst calls possible

That play should honestly be dead but you gotta hold on to the football.

For real. She was trying to protect the downed player. He didn't need to be that close. I know emotions are high, but he needs to be reprimanded

Yeah the Duke football fans are probably the Taco Bell Live Mas section of the year. Frontrunners for sure.

We're not really in a spot to talk much
3
u/Mithrophon North Carolina • Illinois 33m ago
Ha, yup, I made the same joke in our last home game. It’s just embarrassing that they have to force the sponsor shot with any school like these.
2
u/ColombianInIowa24 Duke Blue Devils • Iowa State Cyclones 34m ago
Don't give me hope. Especially after we come short of a TD at goal.
5
u/ZeroEchoVX Duke Blue Devils 35m ago
No reason this game should be this close, guess I’ll take it
3
3
u/stormstopper Duke • Carolina Victory Bell 36m ago
One-possession game I guess but that's a lot of time to burn to only come away with three
2
u/Statalyzer Texas Longhorns 37m ago
Are the icons backwards or have these teams really used 5 of their combined 6 timeouts already?
6
3
u/AnotherUnfunnyName Duke • Carolina Victory Bell 38m ago
I hate this OC. Stop calling plays with only 1 option.
2
u/Mobile-Tangelo 38m ago
8 minute drive and all we could do was a FG...fuckkkk well at least it's something

u/biddigs3 Paper Bag • Georgia Bulldogs 43m ago
So two gadget plays + the first play with the receiver 3 yards behind the DB have resulted in a net of -10 yards for Duke. Truly sickos stuff
5
u/Mobile-Tangelo 43m ago
Between all the injuries, commercials, reviews, timeouts, and halftime...games are like 4 or 5 fucking hours now...insane

That looks like a first. He didn't step out.
Also the same fucking ad on both games I am watching right now.

We’re going to need more than 17 points, with our bend-and-break defense.
1
u/AnotherUnfunnyName Duke • Carolina Victory Bell 46m ago
Yeah, do some stupid shit just when the offense was kinda going. Right on par for this fucking OC. And the total inability to get the ball into any kind of space.
1
u/Procrastin8_Ball North Carolina Tar Heels • Team Meteor 48m ago
D looking like Swiss cheese this drive
2
u/Mithrophon North Carolina • Illinois 50m ago
Do the bands have 25 members apiece, or is the field just terribly miked by ESPN? Switching from Texas to Indiana to Tennessee to Michigan, this game feels like a Division III production.
1
u/AnotherUnfunnyName Duke • Carolina Victory Bell 50m ago
They just can't get the easy stuff right, can they? Come on.
1
u/Mobile-Tangelo 50m ago
Jesus what the actual fuck guys...don't run trick plays you can't pull off...
2
3
u/stormstopper Duke • Carolina Victory Bell 51m ago
Sometimes I don't know if Eget loves his checkdowns too much or not enough
2
u/theiwc0303 Duke Blue Devils 49m ago
He goes through progressions well and knows what throws he can’t make, so it’s good he loves checkdowns so much
2
u/AnotherUnfunnyName Duke • Carolina Victory Bell 46m ago
But Duke also doesn't have any playmakers for plays down the field. The WRs can't get open down the field to save their life. Even "just" Brown would be a immense step for this offense.
1
u/theiwc0303 Duke Blue Devils 51m ago
I wasn’t able to watch the first half and should probably be happy I wasnt
5
u/DirectTV_AndrewLuck North Carolina Tar Heels 53m ago

I don't think the refs miscommunicating on that ending sequence changes anything because he was definitely in-bounds and I think he was short, so 3rd down with the clock running was the correct call and we would've needed to spike anyway (and if not, we probably would've only had time to run one play). But that absolutely can't happen in a more consequential situation and those refs need to talk that sequence over at halftime and figure out what happened.
4
3
u/AnotherUnfunnyName Duke • Carolina Victory Bell 1h ago
Why not take a fucking shot? That takes 5 seconds anyway. This offensive coach staff really isn't there to play school.
3
u/Mithrophon North Carolina • Illinois 1h ago
I want Duke to try a long field goal because I‘ve seen their snapper. There’s like a 10-15% chance we block it for a TD return.
3
u/stormstopper Duke • Carolina Victory Bell 1h ago
Wait what, they moved the chains, didn't they?
2
1
2
u/DizzyDraw2323 1h ago
They more than likely would’ve done the same thing and spiked it but that doesn’t seem fair at all
2
u/djlusc01 1h ago
That seems like a terrible call. How do you not review that?
2
u/Exoprime270 North Carolina • Western Caro… 1h ago
Replay center DoorDash just arrived at that point in time.
2
1
u/AnotherUnfunnyName Duke • Carolina Victory Bell 1h ago
Nice fucking cheap shot there on the last spike, diving at the knees of the center. Assholes.
1
u/Tyler-Durden-2009 Duke Blue Devils 1h ago
So the clock doesn’t stop to reset chains on a first down now?
1
u/stormstopper Duke • Carolina Victory Bell 1h ago
Did the clock pause for the ball to be marked ready?
1
3
u/Zstan99 Ohio State • North Carolina 1h ago
Outside of the Jordan Shipp catch the best play of the game was that Duke receiver somehow getting out of bounds.
1
u/Exoprime270 North Carolina • Western Caro… 1h ago
I would add June steamrolling to that TD earlier was nice. But yeah it’s been sicko game 101 today.
3
u/Mithrophon North Carolina • Illinois 1h ago
I’d be VERY surprised if either team could run a credible 2-minute drill.
