Him and Fluff. The one two punch of both of them being out really killed our offense

Regardless if it makes sense I saw a lot more defense from LSU rather than offense I think/I guess. But of course the score is almost five touchdowns to nothing

Getting shutout and looking absolutely pathetic today. This team better hope and pray they actually win next week.

u/A_Rolling_Baneling USC • Mississippi State 2h ago
Even when we had Dak we weren't this much of a one man team. Without Kamario we can't score a single point? Get Lebby out of here man
49
u/yaboicyno Mississippi State Bulldogs 2h ago
We could’ve had a few FGs but Lebby believes more in a walk on freshman more than my mom believes in me
18
u/ScallywagBeowulf Mississippi State • Marching Band 2h ago
If we had done a field goal on every drive we had gotten close it would have ended 31-15, assuming nothing else changed. Thats at least respectable.

He's a moron and a bad person. Fucking hate that guy, can't wait to see him gone

Multiple of your wr’s were more concerned flipping off the student section down 21-0 after the kickoff. The players attitude was pathetic, gave no shits

Take him back please. Y'all can have a competent offense again, and we can be rid of this loser

I hate that if y'all fire him there's a serious chance we'd bring him back. Like I just don't want his stench anywhere near OU. Id rather our offense suck shit than have Lebby

u/Stutteringstew LSU Tigers 3h ago
Losing your best players definitely showed this week. I was concerned we would lose if he played so GG’s. Miss our yearly rivalry.
9
u/ScallywagBeowulf Mississippi State • Marching Band 2h ago
That wasn’t even just that. This team looked absolutely horrible today. We kept trying to go for it on fourth down instead of taking any sort of points, which could have made it respectable. If we ended up finishing 5-7, I really wouldn’t be surprised after how that game went.
8
u/iamStanhousen LSU Tigers • Southeastern Lions 2h ago
I mean, yall didn’t get any of them, but would you really feel any better if this was 31-6?

I'm still on the train that were a top 10 team in the country that's too afraid to play like it. There's a great argument to be made that both losses are directly because of coaching mistakes
Ole miss first half had the complete wrong game plan and kiffin even took the blame for it and of we go for it on that 4th down last week we win even with all the other stuff around that game.
Lsu is one of the most talented teams in the country and they can hang and get in a dogfight with anybody we just haven't seen that kiffin is willing to lean into the dogfight

u/FlounderingWolverine Minnesota Golden Gophers • Dilly Bar 54m ago
Yeah, it feels like LSU is missing the killer instinct that makes great teams great. Shutting out MSU (even without Super Kemario and their RB) is impressive. But I feel like AP voters are just going to see "LSU shut out MSU" and vault them up in their ballots, even though I don't think LSU should move much higher than like 18, precisely because this MSU team was missing the two players that make the offense work.

u/Honest-Enthusiasm 2h ago

Unranked Florida beating top-10 Texas at Texas, and LSU beating Miss St at LSU, are wildly different results.
LSU was favored by two scores very early in the week, before KT was ruled out.

Youre right, a 31-0 LSU win is much more unexpected than Texas choking at the last minute because of an Arch Manning turnover.

It’s almost like it’s just like every other power conference, with a lot of good but very inconsistent teams. Yet for some reason an SEC loss is treated as a small drop down the rankings, but losing conference games in the Big 10 or Big 12 is grounds for dropping out entirely

Kirk herbstreit recently said the SEC has the best QB talent of any college conference all time. I’m like none of these guys look like obvious NFL QBs. No chance I I would draft Arch his throwing mechanics are absolute shit and he can’t make reads. Outside of being an above average athlete and having the last name of Manning what has he done to deserve this hype

I expected this when I saw Taylor and Fluff were gonna be out so I am not shocked at all.
I dont think Puckett looked too bad out there, he had some freshman mistakes for sure but he didnt have bad numbers. He got more comfortable as the game went on as did our rbs who showed flashes of potential towards the end there. I think they got some valuable snaps for the future in today even if the end results leave something to be desired.
Hopefully next week we can bounce back at home and maybe get some of our injured players back in action

Look, I get it. They are missing their star qb and rb. But that was beyond fucking pathetic. They gave up after the first quarter. Their players were more worried about flipping off the student section down 21-0. Mississippi state played like a team who gave not a single fuck about a single play.
6
u/yaboicyno Mississippi State Bulldogs 1h ago
That’s what’s the most frustrating. I had accepted we were going to lose, but you’ve still got to show up and play. The only guy who looked like he wanted to be there was the walk on QB and a little bit of the 4th string RB at the end. Not a confidence builder towards Lebby for me (there’s basically none to build on anyway).

I hate to see this for Mississippi State. I don't know if they need to recruit better or use the portal more, but you can't hinge your entire season on two players always being healthy and on their A game. Kamario Taylor and Fluff Bothwell are great players, but you need to have more than two capable guys on your roster if you want to win games.
2
u/FloodDawg Mississippi State • Memphis 1h ago
Even if the lines are the hardest positions to portal, in the current era, the lack of depth is an indictment on Lebby as a head coach. If he fired Hutzler after year 1, the defense would have more depth. That he hasn’t recruited or developed o-linemen is even more on Lebby
1
u/LJGremlin Mississippi State Bulldogs 21m ago
Yes! Yes! Yes! Lebby’s failure to act quickly on the Hutzler debacle is still being felt. I think some fans now say give him another year or two with Arnett but his failure to identify an issue after year one shouldn’t buy him more time.
I’ve been against the Lebby hire from day one. And even though we’ve had some fun exciting wins we have still yet to see this play out to where his hiring has paid off.
The lack of depth and the embarrassment of an offensive line is on him. I said here going into the Alabama game that it was a great start to the season but we could easily be staring 4-4 in the face going into Vandy/Auburn/Tennessee Tech/Ole Miss. And based on what I’ve seen from those four I’m thinking 2-2 is realistic with 1-3 being worst case scenario.
Going into the season I felt 8 wins was needed for me to say let’s see what next year brings. 7 wins or less should be terminable. But I could see him surviving that. 6 or less should be fired without question.
We got caught up in the moment of ASU last year and it came crumbling down. We may be, and probably are, in the middle of it happening this year.
