If I had a nickel for every time an unranked Florida kept Texas out of the playoffs, I’d have two nickels

Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice

God damnit this is why the playoffs are expanding isn’t it

Yeah. Absolutely

The actual payout from the 24 team playoff is a minimal increase. They're expanding so that these P4 schools that are spending obscene amounts of money on their team get a better chance to make the playoff and it's so fucking stupid

Now I don't love this term I'm about to use, but it KINDA sounds like the playoff is expanding so Texas (among others) can get a participation trophy...

I assure you the powers that be aren’t pulling any strings for Florida’s favor

Nah but a pulling strings for a generic mid SEC team is what they are pulling for.

But the generic mid SEC teams will wind up beating the higher seeded SEC teams in the playoffs every year since they're all dogshit so it'll seem like the playoff has parity

You’d enjoy college football so much more if you could reduce how much you care about the SEC to the level the average SEC team fan cares about the SEC

Come next year this loss legit won’t matter. And that’s sad
