Billy OB prob only needs 1-2 more wins to save his job

Played hard down the stretch and didn't blow it...
Against a good team...
Are we sure this was a BC game?
21
u/dafdiego777 Boston College Eagles 2h ago
We did throw a totally unnecessary interception with two mins left so definitely.

u/Breaddittor Virginia Cavaliers 2h ago
I know BOB isn't looked fondly upon by the BC fanbase, but BC's been moderately competitive (better than I thought) in ACC play so far. I think it's been an relatively impressive season for them considering the reporting that BC spends far and away the least money in the P4.
9
u/Rooleet Boston College Eagles 2h ago
It's been better this year but the team quitting in October last year after looking wildly undisciplined was a terrible look.
It's one thing to lack funding (although the extent of that report was disputed by insiders), but the entire point of getting BoB would be that they could make up some of the difference with good coaching.

u/dietmrfizz Boston College • San Diego State 2h ago
I mean 4-5 wins is not a lot
-3
u/Breaddittor Virginia Cavaliers 2h ago
I didn't think they were gonna win an ACC game this year to be honest looking at the roster before the season. I was pretty surprised they beat Rutgers even after Rutgers lost to UMass.

u/somebodysbuddy Lehigh Mountain Hawks • Marching Band 2h ago
You forgot the Red Bandana boost, I was more surprised they won close.

😒 please save us from BOB purgatory
7
u/smellslikelowtide /r/CFB 2h ago
Say what you will about BOB, but that early timeout to get in the defense’s face changed the game
2
u/Or1g1nalrepr0duct10n Boston College Eagles 1h ago
Might not even need that if the program wants to save on termination payments.

Still waiting for Cal to decide they’re going to mess up the post season again by inexplicably winning games to throw a wrench in everyone’s plans
Watch Cal go 8-1 now just to screw with everybody

I really want Wake to win tonight, but those late night California game times are flukey.

u/Inside-Drink-1311 Rutgers Scarlet Knights 2h ago
I’ll give them the excuse of them not having their QB but still a game they should have won. It’s the classic Narduzzi special.
9
u/Halvey15 Pittsburgh • James Madison 2h ago
There’s really no excuse for losing these last two games. The QB wasn’t the biggest issue in either game.
2
u/bonzaijoe Pittsburgh Panthers • Sickos 2h ago
I agree with you, however both games we had opportunities for late game winning drives that were stifled by terrible throws
2
u/realclean Pittsburgh Panthers • Pepperdine Waves 49m ago
What game were you watching lol? We had 3 completed passes in the whole first half. After a 75 yard pass on the very first play, our QB went 10/24 with 118 yards and 2 interceptions.
I'd like our D to be better, but I'm not exaggerating when I say that we have the worst passing game in P4, maybe all of FBS right now
2
u/Dialectic_Emptiness Pittsburgh Panthers 2h ago
Nah you can’t excuse this one. UNC yes, today no. Narduzzi and the defense blew it plain and simple.
34
u/bonzaijoe Pittsburgh Panthers • Sickos 2h ago
Thank god we’re not gonna make a bowl game, I don’t want to watch either of these backup quarterbacks an extra time

Wasn't the Pitt coach talking shit about voters overlooking his team a couple of weeks ago?
12
u/Mrludy85 Pittsburgh Panthers 2h ago
I think Pitt fans would be the first to Dunk on Narduzzi so you guys gotta get in line.
26
u/Toothlessdovahkin Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2h ago
Narduzzi is an idiot
11
u/Dialectic_Emptiness Pittsburgh Panthers 2h ago
100% Pitt fans will agree to this. His words are meaningless
48
u/royalbluehen Pittsburgh • Michigan 2h ago
Yeah the game which we were 5-0 then lost our starting qb and starting rb.
-13
u/LightningDusty Florida Gators • Orange Bowl 2h ago
I guess that excuses losing to Boston College. 😂
15
u/royalbluehen Pittsburgh • Michigan 2h ago
There is no excuse for losing to Boston College. Being 5-0 and winning a huge emotional game is probably gonna make most coaches cut a promo about being ranked though.
18
u/Dialectic_Emptiness Pittsburgh Panthers 2h ago
Losing our QB1 has certainly affected this team, believe it or not.
8
u/Tommy05Sox Iowa Hawkeyes • Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2h ago
And a true freshman today. Definitely could've made the ACC title game without the injury.

2
u/Dialectic_Emptiness Pittsburgh Panthers 2h ago
We’re most likely 7-0 and top 15 heading to Miami next week with Mason, but that’s life.
10
u/LightningDusty Florida Gators • Orange Bowl 2h ago
We didn't have our QB1 today and beat Texas. 🤷♂️
10
u/Dialectic_Emptiness Pittsburgh Panthers 2h ago
Florida has a way better coach and far more talent than Pitt, I can admit that.
13
u/Throwawayerrydayyy Oregon State Beavers • USC Trojans 2h ago
Yes but did Pitt get the advantage of playing garbage arch?
-4
u/gatorbois Florida Gators 2h ago
But Pitt fans also said it wouldn’t impact the team lol

4
u/Mrludy85 Pittsburgh Panthers 2h ago
Where did you see that? I'm pretty sure every pitt knew our season went up in flames the minute he was out.

After the VT game I think on some ranking thread. We also have a lot of dumb fans running around here though
3
15
u/RevengeOfTheMothman Penn State Nittany Lions 2h ago
I’m not saying this to be salty or anything but any down year for Penn State seems to lead to Pitt becoming over confident. I don’t know why but it just always feels that way
9
u/Enrickel Virginia Tech Hokies 1h ago
Narduzzi is always overconfident. You just might be more sensitive to it when your team is down.
5
u/MeeseShoop Boston College • Vanderbilt 2h ago
I mean they probably win the last 2 games if their starting QB didn’t go down.
11
u/Dialectic_Emptiness Pittsburgh Panthers 2h ago edited 2h ago
Greene needs to force a Narduzzi retirement. This is so fucking pathetic. Year 12 and our defense is getting absolutely torched by a running QB through the air AND we get hit for 113 yards on 13 penalties. Fuck you, that’s a joke. I’m not putting any blame at all on a 3rd string true freshman making his first start ever on the road.

I think Pitt fans in the game thread were being overly whiny about the officiating but it is hilarious that the ref had the world's strongest Boston accent
12
u/RevengeOfTheMothman Penn State Nittany Lions 2h ago
Deez fuckin’ Pantha’s are committin wicked penalties ova here
3
u/royalbluehen Pittsburgh • Michigan 2h ago
Yeah what was the acc thinking with that? Certainly Pitt dbs play handsy, but a guy straight from southie throwing 100+ yards of penalties on Pitt is a bad look
7
u/MeeseShoop Boston College • Vanderbilt 2h ago
Are you really suggesting they should assign refs based on where they are born lmfao

Honestly I think our chances of beating Miami sky rocketed. It wouldn't be a classic Pitt season unless we randomly beat a good team out of nowhere after making it look like we eat crayons the rest of the season.
