Happy for the boys!

Billy OB prob only needs 1-2 more wins to save his job

Played hard down the stretch and didn't blow it...

Against a good team...

Are we sure this was a BC game?

17

u/dafdiego777 Boston College Eagles 1h ago

We did throw a totally unnecessary interception with two mins left so definitely.

14

u/Rooleet Boston College Eagles 1h ago edited 1h ago

Imagine the universe we fired Hafley when we should have instead of letting him walk on his own terms and we get Chesney that cycle...

I know BOB isn't looked fondly upon by the BC fanbase, but BC's been moderately competitive (better than I thought) in ACC play so far. I think it's been an relatively impressive season for them considering the reporting that BC spends far and away the least money in the P4.

6

u/Rooleet Boston College Eagles 1h ago

It's been better this year but the team quitting in October last year after looking wildly undisciplined was a terrible look.

It's one thing to lack funding (although the extent of that report was disputed by insiders), but the entire point of getting BoB would be that they could make up some of the difference with good coaching.

u/dietmrfizz Boston College • San Diego State 1h ago

I mean 4-5 wins is not a lot

0

u/Breaddittor Virginia Cavaliers 1h ago

I didn't think they were gonna win an ACC game this year to be honest looking at the roster before the season. I was pretty surprised they beat Rutgers even after Rutgers lost to UMass.

1

u/somebodysbuddy Lehigh Mountain Hawks • Marching Band 1h ago

You forgot the Red Bandana boost, I was more surprised they won close.

7

u/MeeseShoop Boston College • Vanderbilt 1h ago

😒 please save us from BOB purgatory

6

u/smellslikelowtide /r/CFB 1h ago

Say what you will about BOB, but that early timeout to get in the defense’s face changed the game

Might not even need that if the program wants to save on termination payments.

Pitt really lost to Bill Belichick and Bill O Brian in back to back weeks

26

u/Confident_Delay5805 LIU Sharks 1h ago

They don’t like people named Bill

8

u/OnionFutureWolfGang Notre Dame Fighting Irish 1h ago

Specifically guys named Bill who were once NFL head coaches with GM responsibilities. Someone needs to hire Bill Parcells.

Miami gonna lose by 30 next week

They’re lucky Matt Patricia and Joe Judge aren’t HC anywhere

I can’t believe we lost to this guy

You didn’t, you lost to the guy who got benched for this guy lol

18

u/Maximiliansrh Virginia Tech Hokies • Paper Bag 1h ago

Omg that’s even worse

9

u/SiccSemperTyrannis Virginia Tech Hokies • Team Chaos 1h ago

The last 2 losses have just been soul killing late fumbles

3

u/Interesting-Lemon318 Pittsburgh Panthers 1h ago

🤣🤣🤣

32

u/Inside-Drink-1311 Rutgers Scarlet Knights 1h ago

I’ll give them the excuse of them not having their QB but still a game they should have won. It’s the classic Narduzzi special.

7

u/Halvey15 Pittsburgh • James Madison 1h ago

There’s really no excuse for losing these last two games. The QB wasn’t the biggest issue in either game.

1

u/bonzaijoe Pittsburgh Panthers • Sickos 1h ago

I agree with you, however both games we had opportunities for late game winning drives that were stifled by terrible throws

1

u/Dialectic_Emptiness Pittsburgh Panthers 1h ago

Nah you can’t excuse this one. UNC yes, today no. Narduzzi and the defense blew it plain and simple.

34

u/MeeseShoop Boston College • Vanderbilt 1h ago

The ACC circle of suck will be glorious this season.

10

u/Difficult-Froyo1192 Clemson Tigers 1h ago

Still waiting for Cal to decide they’re going to mess up the post season again by inexplicably winning games to throw a wrench in everyone’s plans

Watch Cal go 8-1 now just to screw with everybody

1

u/MeeseShoop Boston College • Vanderbilt 1h ago

I really want Wake to win tonight, but those late night California game times are flukey.

29

u/bonzaijoe Pittsburgh Panthers • Sickos 1h ago

Thank god we’re not gonna make a bowl game, I don’t want to watch either of these backup quarterbacks an extra time

Wasn't the Pitt coach talking shit about voters overlooking his team a couple of weeks ago?

22

u/Toothlessdovahkin Notre Dame Fighting Irish 1h ago

Narduzzi is an idiot

6

u/Dialectic_Emptiness Pittsburgh Panthers 1h ago

100% Pitt fans will agree to this. His words are meaningless

9

u/Mrludy85 Pittsburgh Panthers 1h ago

I think Pitt fans would be the first to Dunk on Narduzzi so you guys gotta get in line.

32

u/royalbluehen Pittsburgh • Michigan 1h ago

Yeah the game which we were 5-0 then lost our starting qb and starting rb.

-11

u/LightningDusty Florida Gators • Orange Bowl 1h ago

I guess that excuses losing to Boston College. 😂

13

u/royalbluehen Pittsburgh • Michigan 1h ago

There is no excuse for losing to Boston College. Being 5-0 and winning a huge emotional game is probably gonna make most coaches cut a promo about being ranked though.

14

u/RevengeOfTheMothman Penn State Nittany Lions 1h ago

I’m not saying this to be salty or anything but any down year for Penn State seems to lead to Pitt becoming over confident. I don’t know why but it just always feels that way

2

u/Enrickel Virginia Tech Hokies 19m ago

Narduzzi is always overconfident. You just might be more sensitive to it when your team is down.

13

u/Dialectic_Emptiness Pittsburgh Panthers 1h ago

Losing our QB1 has certainly affected this team, believe it or not.

10

u/LightningDusty Florida Gators • Orange Bowl 1h ago

We didn't have our QB1 today and beat Texas. 🤷‍♂️

8

u/Dialectic_Emptiness Pittsburgh Panthers 1h ago

Florida has a way better coach and far more talent than Pitt, I can admit that.

8

u/Throwawayerrydayyy Oregon State Beavers • USC Trojans 1h ago

Yes but did Pitt get the advantage of playing garbage arch?

5

u/Tommy05Sox Iowa Hawkeyes • Notre Dame Fighting Irish 1h ago

And a true freshman today. Definitely could've made the ACC title game without the injury.

3

u/SecretAsianMan42069 1h ago

7-5 makes the ACC title game, historically

0

u/Dialectic_Emptiness Pittsburgh Panthers 1h ago

We’re most likely 7-0 and top 15 heading to Miami next week with Mason, but that’s life.

-3

u/gatorbois Florida Gators 1h ago

But Pitt fans also said it wouldn’t impact the team lol

5

u/ScruffythePanther Pittsburgh Panthers 1h ago

Exactly who said this?

5

u/royalbluehen Pittsburgh • Michigan 1h ago

Nobody. This is Florida man just making shit up

1

u/Mrludy85 Pittsburgh Panthers 1h ago

Where did you see that? I'm pretty sure every pitt knew our season went up in flames the minute he was out.

0

u/gatorbois Florida Gators 1h ago

After the VT game I think on some ranking thread. We also have a lot of dumb fans running around here though

2

u/Ok_Requirement_8133 Texas A&M Aggies 1h ago

This has happened like every year the past few years

3

u/MeeseShoop Boston College • Vanderbilt 1h ago

I mean they probably win the last 2 games if their starting QB didn’t go down.

pitt fans knew this. the moment that play happened the season ended

13

u/DeathsFavoriteHuman Boston College • Cornell 1h ago

We actually won?

10

u/Dialectic_Emptiness Pittsburgh Panthers 1h ago edited 1h ago

Greene needs to force a Narduzzi retirement. This is so fucking pathetic. Year 12 and our defense is getting absolutely torched by a running QB through the air AND we get hit for 113 yards on 13 penalties. Fuck you, that’s a joke. I’m not putting any blame at all on a 3rd string true freshman making his first start ever on the road.

18

u/mynewname1 Boston College Eagles 1h ago

If we held on against VT this season would feel very different.

2

u/Rich_Fly3112 1h ago

Could be sitting 5-1 right now, that one hurts.

I think our backups could still score on your defense. But enjoy your victory lap when we both miss a bowl game lol

10

u/sarmsgoblinslayer SMU Mustangs • Missouri Tigers 1h ago

Idk why but getting similar vibes to 2024 when Pitt was hot and had a ton of momentum at 7-0. then they lost 6 straight games

9

u/Glass_Apricot Clemson Tigers 1h ago

Same story as always with Pitt, mid season QB injury three years in a row.

2

u/No_Butterscotch8726 SMU Mustangs • Penn State Nittany Lions 1h ago

Narduzzi needs to invest in his offensive line.

1

u/Strang404 Pittsburgh • Notre Dame 1m ago

Lost our starter on a QB scramble against VT but I still Agree

5

You don’t know why? Lol take a wild guess

6

I can name about 5 other Mid season collapses for Pitt. It’s the Nard special

1

u/SMUHypeMachine SMU Mustangs 39m ago

Didn’t their QB get hurt during our game? I could be misremembering but I swear he was out for the season after it.

21

u/EgregiousPhilbin6 Michigan • Boston College 1h ago

I think Pitt fans in the game thread were being overly whiny about the officiating but it is hilarious that the ref had the world's strongest Boston accent

7

u/RevengeOfTheMothman Penn State Nittany Lions 1h ago

Deez fuckin’ Pantha’s are committin wicked penalties ova here

1

u/royalbluehen Pittsburgh • Michigan 1h ago

Yeah what was the acc thinking with that? Certainly Pitt dbs play handsy, but a guy straight from southie throwing 100+ yards of penalties on Pitt is a bad look

4

u/MeeseShoop Boston College • Vanderbilt 1h ago

Are you really suggesting they should assign refs based on where they are born lmfao

1

u/royalbluehen Pittsburgh • Michigan 48m ago

Did I say that?

1

u/MeeseShoop Boston College • Vanderbilt 38m ago

You heavily implied it.

You understand that we live in a low trust society and people are looking for every excuse to say there is a conspiracy right? Why give people something to bitch about when you can easily avoid it?

Just pathetic. The hot start followed by going ice fucking cold. Next up is Miami and I have no confidence in that game.

1

u/GuhdNahtBahd Nebraska Cornhuskers 30m ago

What’s pathetic about losing your stud QB to injury?

1

u/Adidas_Tracksuit Pittsburgh Panthers • Marching Band 8m ago

What's pathetic is having a great run defense and run game to supposedly fall back on to maybe salvage the season just not show up

-1

u/Mrludy85 Pittsburgh Panthers 1h ago

Honestly I think our chances of beating Miami sky rocketed. It wouldn't be a classic Pitt season unless we randomly beat a good team out of nowhere after making it look like we eat crayons the rest of the season.

Replace Boston College with refs and the title would be correct
