Game Thread Tuesday day thread brought to you by employment

This is my last day at my first official job, and over the last 3 weeks I've been able to get 2 part time jobs that might be as lucrative as my current job. And I'm starting next week!! I'm SO excited. Less work, same or more pay, less days, and I'll be helping people!!!

How are y'all?

Nothing like going on a date that you just feel in your soul is the last one with this person based not on any major issues, but purely vibes lol

Congratulations on the new gigs! Here’s hoping they’re fulfilling, it sounds like helping people is a big positive for you, and I remember that your employment situation has been kind of nutty for a little while.

Things are blowing up on this end of the block; my best friend’s wife is trying to become an influencer, and she’s pissing off all of her friends along the way. She keeps posting pictures of the friend group when we all get together, but she edits us like crazy without asking at all if we care that she’s changing how we look online.  Some of her hits so far:

  1. She thinned out me, herself, and another girl in the group in pictures. Both me and the other girl have spent a lot of time in the gym and working on our diets to find our ways to not hating our bodies.

  2. The wannabe-influencer facetuned the hell out of one girl in the group who has struggled with adult acne, and is really self-conscious about it.

  3. She definitely bulked up her husband’s (my best friend’s) arms in the pictures. It’s really weird, since he’s already jacked.

  4. She edited out some of our other friend’s tattoos. His tattoos aren’t bad or cheap, I guess they just didn’t fit what she wanted to show?

  5. She did something to the tattooed friend’s wife’s teeth. Her teeth have some spaces between them, and it seems like the teeth are blurred to hide the gaps in the posted pictures?

  6. She smoothed out another friend’s skin on his leg to hide a few old self-harm scars.

Suffice to say that everyone’s pissed.  Not great to see that one of my longtime friends would prefer that I was thinner for her social media presence, but  I can deal with having my body edited; facetuning our other friend has turned really dark. The girl who got facetuned is currently spiraling quietly.

Congrats on the employment change! Gotta be a good feeling just knowing it will get more agreeable in a week. I got maybe another year or 2 before PSLF is finished (if I even get to claim it at this rate...) then it's time to assess my options.

100% agree, it's funny how the rich are sure it's what we want, when there are tons of protest showing that we don't want date centers

Congrats, that's got to be a good feeling!

For the most part I enjoy my current job, but I'm also looking forward to the prospect of moving to something better-paying in the next couple of years or so, once I've got a little more time under my belt.

Thanks!

I did something similar. It's nice to have experience and know you're a better prospect than when you first started.
