Decided to skip out on my birthday yesterday since last year I got laid off on it and treated it like any other normal day.

I’m bummed it’s looking like rain all weekend since I was thinking about hitting a soccer match on Sunday if the Astros don’t play tomorrow.

Sorry that you associate that with your birthday. I get it; there was a big tragedy on one of those annoying Hallmark holidays and so I really try to avoid it, but people shove it in my face.

It sucks but it could’ve been way worse - thankfully my family was understanding about it.

I’m trying to do something fun this weekend to “reclaim it.”

Oh I need to tell you when I go to Japan I am actually going to be able to watch a professional match, it is 3rd tier but still. I have only ever seen Liverpool a few times when they have been on tour in the south east so I am excited

Oh that sounds fun.

The local NWSL team’s matches are pretty fun and inexpensive entertainment but my favorite team doesn’t come until November, so I’m not as disappointed if I don’t go.

One of the guys I work with had a business trip out to LA and he sent me a Clayton Kershaw replica World Series ring... It is so legit

What is also legit is MeTV is having a Wizard of Oz weekend and I am super pumped

I found a 2013 ACC and 2013 Orange Bowl champion set with box for a little under 6k... I mean that is really cool but I could also get a shitty used car for that amount of money

Well any bowl game ring is going to be cool especially if it has the bowl game logo and isn't some generic jostens thing.

That being said considering I never got a class ring when I graduated college I would feel really silly buying a bowl ring

I never got a class ring, but a bowl ring for my team? That’s cooler than a class ring that anyone can buy and that are usually cheesy.

Well I thought about buying one like a few years after I got out of school but then I realized that I most work at a keyboard and having a half ounce of metal on a finger will not help my typing
