Get ready for a tough semester. Planck and Mealy are good professors, and everyobody will rave about them and for good reason. But their classes are *hard*. Mealy especially likes to finish the topics in the class in the first half of the quarter and spends the other 1/2 on advanced topics. As long as you stay on top of things, clear up any confusion ASAP, you should be good, but this is a real STEM heavy semester, so get ready.

idk which class you took with James, but he doesn't spend the other half on "advanced topics"

omg okay tysm for letting me know. are their quizzes and exams extremely hard? or is it possible to get an A if you study for those classes almost regularly? would you recommend finding another professor for those courses?

A is definitely very possible with regular studying. I dont think there's many other options currently available, and you definitely don't want a new professor (CPE did some hiring last and this year). Just make sure you take the time to thoroughly understand the concepts and code, and do any practice they give you 3x over.

omg okay tysm this is so so helpful!!! also since my spring semester schedule is kinda a lot and very stem heavy do you think it would be better for me to drop a class (possibly math) and take a GE class instead or should i just thug it out

James is the goat. You shouldn't only care about grades btw that's not way to go if you wanna get something out of college

Is this what they blocked you into? If it's your own scheduling, be sure to have several back up plans, there may not be much left by the time it gets to us. When is your enrollment appointment? Mine is 10/29 and I'm not spending too much time scheduling until it gets closer.

omg yayyy. how are his quizzes/exams? are they full of trick questions or it is more like if you do the homework you'll do well on the quiz? is it possible to get an A in his class if you work hard enough?

Honestly I just do the homework over and over until I understand and what’s on the homework is on the quizzes. The exam was a little challenging but it’s a midterm I got a B 🧘‍♀️. It’s very possible to get an A in the class and if anything he has office hours or stops the lecture for any questions. He’s a very nice and approachable professor in my opinion :)

Dude I only got blocked into 2 classes you’re lucky! One of mine has a 1/4 on poly ratings too

Please revisit your schedule, cal poly is adding

deleting courses left and right. It shows only John Clements for csc 2001 for me. Mine opens 28th Oct for registration

You are likely viewing only those sections with seats available. Block Scheduling is running a variety of scenarios, so the number of seats available within a section will shift until Block Scheduling completes.
