Transfer Transfer student housing advice
Where to live as a 3rd yr transfer student (female 20 y/o). Would like to be around other students as I won’t know anyone when transferring next fall. Any specific apartments that are recommended or to avoid? Also what can I expect rent wise for a single room with roommates?

As a fellow transfer student who has graduated from SLO and didn’t know anyone! I would strongly recommend you live in the dorms specifically Cerro Vista and get a single dorm room. Almost every student in Cerro Vista is a transfer or international student. So I meet life-changing friends, from all over the world. In SLO we have an event called WOW week where you’re introduced to meeting other transfer students. To me this was cool because when I was applying to other institutions, Berkeley, UCSD they didn’t have any of this. So it made it easy to meet people.
Rent-wise, it was pricey. However, would I do it again ? Absolutely!!!!
Most of the people I meet in Cerro Vista I’ve met them again in their country, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Mexico, Germany, Brazil, Sweden etc…..
Hmmm, if you have other types of questions DM or comment on it. Also, you are away from first years which is cool in my book.

On campus, you’ll be in either cerro vista or PCV most likely. Cerro is largely transfers and older students and offers a 4 bed 2 bath layout with all singles but its 2200 a month👎 PCV is mostly 2nd years and I think most rooms will be doubles. Off campus im not rly sure tbh
