hi all! has anyone else had issues with calls on at&t dropping recently in mid and north cambridge?

New to the area and craving a great, simple steak & cheese for dinner. Even better if it’s a place we can sit down and eat at.

All at Mount Auburn Hospital, I recently saw my GP (general practitioner or these days PCP) and my wife's GP and NP (nurse practitioner) and I saw a surgeon and my gastroenterologist in the office following a colonoscopy. All visits included a physical exam of some kind.

The GPs and NP all wore masks the whole time, while the specialists wore no masks at any time.

I thought it was interesting.

I'm an international volunteer research fellow at a hospital in Boston, currently unpaid. Unfortunately, my health insurance doesn't cover dental treatment.

I've been experiencing some pain around an old filling, and I'm concerned that I might need a tooth extraction.

I've looked into Tufts, BU, and Harvard dental schools, but I'm worried about the costs of the initial examination, X-rays, and extraction.

Has anyone had a tooth extracted at any of these dental schools without insurance? How much did you pay in total?

I'm specifically looking for free or very low-cost extraction services, ideally under $100, if that's possible.

I'd really appreciate any recommendations or personal experiences, especially from people who were uninsured or had no income.

People are complaining about building needed housing on a parking lot?? Really? Because they may have to park a couple blocks away? This is where the NIMBY mask comes off. They don't want new housing anywhere. No matter how expensive your rent is. Oh, and by the way, some of the money will be used to expand the food pantry. I guess parking is more important than that, too.

Spotted Cybercab in cambridge, but had a driver

I moved to Boston last week and I'm hoping to have a cozy afternoon working at a coffee shop in the area! I haven't explored much of Cambridge so any recommendations would be wonderful.

Lost in port square shopping mall (specifically Michael’s and Star Market) a very sentimental bandana. Dark green with white spots and pink edging. Probably blowing around the car park somewhere! Would be very grateful for its return if anyone finds it.

(I have retraced my steps and asked in both shops with no luck)

A few months ago there were some threads about consistent Verizon outages in east Cambridge with mobile calls either dropping or not being able to make a call at all. I kept reporting this to Verizon (I mostly experienced this around Fifth st to Fulkerson) and kept getting the “we know there’s an outage and we are working on it” with no changes ever happening. I got fed up after my calls dropped again today so I was able to talk to an agent and got this response. Who knows if it’ll result in changes but maybe it will. Does anyone else experience these issues in this area or is it just me?

REST IN PEACE my favorite lunch spot. They used to have a killer lunch special for 12 bucks (entree of your choice, side of rice and beans, chips and salsa and a soda). Does anyone know why they're closing? They told me it was indefinite.

This is at least the third that I'm aware of (along with CCC and CARE Housing). Exactly how many do they need? I'm sure it's all the same people anyway.

Per their Instagram page, apparently a senior employee misappropriated tens of thousands of dollars of the businesses money and was leaving vendors unpaid, putting the business in serious financial strain and causing a dispute with their game vendor. The whole story is up on their Instagram page and provides a lot more detail, but it looks like until then they have to close the arcade while they work their way out of this financial mess.

They were probably going for 'slow down' so the opposite direction was supposed to indicate that? But I have seen enough people flying past going the wrong way to wonder whether this is helping or not.
