Spent the past two days working on this tower.

Made out of 3/4" plywood and 2x4. Sits 60" high and is 24"x24". With the platforms set at 15" spacing should still be usable as my kitties age.

Looks great! How did you get the edge of the carpet so neat against the pillars? Specifically looking at picture 3

I do sharpie layout on the bottom of the carpet in reverse, then cut the hole to fit over the pillar. That way I can slide the base panels in place with the pillars mounted. With that carpet in place, I can attach the next layer. Once I have the top and bottom on, I then carpet the pillars last. If you look in the back of that photo you can see the precut carpet squares I made. A 2x4 is 10 inches around, so the other dimension you cut for is the height. Just a sharpie and a razor blade, then I trim the loose strings with a scissor. I make my seam on the inside.

carpet base Here's a few more photos. Should have probably put them in with the rest when I posted intially.

So much great work! And, so much better because you have it covered in real carpet, instead of that faux fur crap that most retail trees are covered with now.
